Make sure The Mod Configuration Menu is in a higher load order than this mod. Other than that there's not much that would impede this mod from working correctly.

    Hey man,

Is it possible to add your own songs to this? I really want all the songs from GNR Radio from Fallout 3 in New Vegas.

    Thanks.

So much hasle just to get limited number of custom tracks working with this??! Jeez...Might as well just stick to RACE, courier's radio station mod, My Radio mod or any other custom radio station mod, that is available on the Nexus...i still think this is worth getting for those, who are content with vanilla or DLC tracks, but have songs that they dislike (like Vera Keyes - Begin Again And cursed Johnny Guitar in my case!)

    INSTRUCTIONS FOR CUSTOM MUSIC!
I have managed to create a method that allows you to use this mod to add your own custom music to the game, but the process is somewhat complicated so bear with me.

Step One. Download the mod and install it as normal. Set up the radio station and make sure everything's working. If you're all set, we can begin.

Step Two. Get MP3's of your custom music together. You can pick no more than 12. I'll explain why in a minute.

Step Three. This is the tricky part. You'll need to open the mod file until you get to a list of MP3s There should be 12 MP3 files there. These aren't all the songs that this mod has, so make sure you know what songs these files correlate to in-game before you do anything.

Step Four. Copy the file name of one of the MP3s that' in the file. Then delete that file and put your custom MP3 in the folder. Now rename that Mp3 using the name you copied. If you do this right, you've effectively replaced one of the songs this custom radio station will play with your own.

Just dumping your MP3's into the mod folder won't work because the radio won't play them without some programming that I'm not qualified to teach you or even do myself. Make sure to write down or otherwise make a record of the Mp3s you replaced, because they will still have the same name as the old files.

Warning. Try to avoid using MP3 files that are longer than 8 minutes or larger than 100 Megabytes. With research and personal experience, this can destabilize the mod and even crash your game if you do. The radio in New Vegas was never designed for stuff like that so exercise caution.

List Of Songs This Method Can replace.
(These aren't all the exact song names but they're close enough so sue me.)
    Piano Concerto 21.
    Four Seasons.
    Flower Duet.
Concerto Grosso In B Minor Allegro 1 and 2.
    Concerto in D minor.
    Ride Of The Valkyries.
    Muzak.
    Spring Song.
    Hail To The Chief.
    Hallo Mr. X
    Begin Again.

You'll notice that most of these come from the classical sub-menu, with only one or two coming from other menus. This makes things pretty simple if you don't like the classical music this mod provides. (I do, but I personally don't think it fits Fallout very well unless you're in the Ultra-Lux.)

Pretty neat idea. A Conelrad patch would be awesome, but I'm not gonna force you to make it lol.
Having the original songs be an option is insanely cool.

I was thinking of recording my own dialogue and add it in through the mod (I've got my own mic and a bit of recording software so it should be easy enough). Would it work that way?

Yeah, just tick my mod when opening the Geck and that'll load it. You can add stuff to it there.

For some reason, I can't seem to get the radio fixed. I have all the parts needed, but when I press "Fix radio with parts", nothing happens. What am I doing wrong?

Hmm, I must've screwed up a menu transition. Let me check it out, in the mean time, run these console commands to skip the menu and get the radio going (you already have the items anyway):

      prid xx001d22
      enable

Replace "xx" with this mod's Mod Index (and you're running two commands, so press Enter before running "enable").

Loving this mod, could it be possible to make a TTW version with the songs added from Fallout 3?

I would have to install TTW first. I'll see if I can do it, but don't expect it anytime soon cause there's lots of things I gotta add to make the menu work.

Maybe I didn't read the description right, but does this only use music that was cut or can I make my own Playlist and add it to this radio station?

It's a radio station that plays every single song in the game, including music that was used only in certain places like casinos or during certain quests (plus one cut song that is still in the game files). It'll randomly play a song from that list of 51 songs, but you can also edit the playlist of the radio station through the MCM menu to only play the songs you want.
