A friendly reminder NOT TO MERGE this mod with any automated merging tools like Wrye Bash, as it will cause messed up World Spaces/Interiors! If you have serious concerns regarding any incompatibilities between Yellow, Goodbye and other mods... Please let me know.
Version 1.3 of Yellow Goodbye is now available and features a bunch of changes. Focus this time around were "Image Space Modifiers"...
Letting JIP do its magic, I was able to rework the way color correction works over the course of an ingame day. With custom made high noon modifiers in place, Yellow Goodbye will de-intensify tints much more gradually, and often more leniently than before. (Ironically) I did my best to restore some of the games "amber-ness", while keeping color improvements on a sufficient level.
Please keep in mind, that I haven't been able to completely fine-tune everything yet, as such I'm open to critique.
I'm having an issue using this with vortex. I unpack, choose the DLC version, then repack it into a .rar file, and install it with vortex. But it doesnt change the tint of the game, still yellow.
Obsidian kept a bunch of Fallout 3's data for reference purposes, I modified some of that data to be safe (as did phoenix when he made Clarity), but it's mostly just leftovers.
Just wanted to stop by and say that this is the mod I have been searching for since I first played this game in 2013! Very good mod that doesn't make nights pitch black and doesn't ruin the aesthetic of FNV (either intentionally or unintentionally). Really just a great mod that simply adds more vibrancy to the FNV color palette without killing the aesthetics the vanilla game adds. Thank you so much for making it Amiga!
What do you mean by "fixed"? Interiors received the same treatment as exteriors, they simply have, for the most part, tighter color palettes.
There are certain areas of the game that I am unwilling to alter (too much), including the very intentional looks of things like certain exteriors, sunrise and sunset, nights and interiors.
To be honest, I stopped updating it out of sheer laziness. Also, I'm not overly fond of the style of implementation, as it's fairly heavy-handed and feels... makeshift(?).
Understandable. It’s annoying having to maintain two versions of the same mod, especially in this case with the number of values involved in making night darker. After some testing and combining with other mods, the default nights look dark enough for me anyway.
This is by far my favourite outdoor lighting mod, preserving the atmosphere of the game while toning down the aggressive yellow tint. As for making interior lighting less flat, is this mod compatible with Interior Lighting Overall? Has anyone had any experience running these two together and does it look good?
As long as you load ILO after my mod, there shouldn't be any problems. As for those two looking good in tandem: I can't imagine the result being too different from a vanilla+ILO - combination, due to the fairly simple nature of my mod.
You should be good. interiors will likely look more "vanilla-ish" (in terms of colors) than now, but You should be good.

With the lack of alternatives (at least back in 2019) I felt almost obliged to make this mod.

Maybe you are noticing the interior fog? Fog can, at times, heavily mute colors.
There are solutions to that type of problem, if that's the case.
That is all.
