It is a very good mod if you like a populated world. But for me I find there are way to many of them all over the place. I fast travelled to 7 places after installing this, and they were at each of them, and on the roads I walked though, and at every general store I went to.
I like this mod, conceptually, but the cowboys and cowgirls are OP as all hell. They spawn with high health and DT and relatively powerful weapons and just wipe out enemies before I can get to them, especially in Primm.
They also should just have cowboy weapons - lever action rifles, shotguns and revolvers. No SMG's, plasma rifles, etc. Those lower tier weapons would help a lot.
Love this mod, but as many mentioned, it's very unbalanced. I've made a quick balancing edit for myself (Halved their health and brought their weapon tier to level one), that also includes textures generated for the cowboy npcs (To get rid of mismatched colors) https://www.dropbox.com/scl/fi/uxjwfe33su0unh9rgos7a/Home-on-the-Wastes-More-Balanced.rar?rlkey=kdpew86lpeznys22li1l59enc&dl=0
love this mod. sadly seems like its dead though, because the trading route for the cowboys in Goodsprings seems to be very buggy with them getting stuck on rocks/trees and pushing each other through
I think this mod is incredibly immersive, but I'll have to disable until I'm at a higher level in this playthrough because these cowboys and cowgirls are stone-cold killers. I feel like their stats are overtuned. They near-singlehandely won Ghost Town Gunfight, a group of them cleaned half of Primm's outside before they went down, and when I heard gunfire and finally arrived at the Nevada Station, they'd already liquidated all of the Vipers.
I dunno what exactly are their stats in comparison to a basic power ganger, but I think they should be similar to that level of power. Also, this might be a mod interaction: I have DLC weapon integration, and I see them always spawning with the 5.56mm gun which gives them a great leg-up over the mojave critters and bandits. Perhaps creating their own leveled list with only the most rudimentary of weapons (9mm pistols, varmint rifles, single shotguns and the like) would help make this mod feel more immersive.
I want to like this mod more, but it's always a little annoying when I'm walking into a town and then a big group of cowboys, brahmin, and dogs instantly spawn in on top of each other and then awkwardly stumble around
This doesn't necessarily conflict but it does overlap with the mod that turns Wolfhorn's Ranch into a Ulysses-ized home, since it turns it into an actual ranch with cowboys and things instead of somewhere he used to live.
