DESCRIPTION
When I first started this project, I wasn't sure if it would work and was fully prepared to do all this just to have a neat display piece. But as I tweaked it more and more, it slowly started to come together, so I've decided to release it!

I was inspired by the Knight's Armament ChainSAW configuration of the M249 light machine gun and wanted to see if I could make it using base game New Vegas assets. I took the vanilla Light Machine Gun mesh and removed the iron sights, buttstock and pistol grip/trigger assembly, then I shortened the barrel and mirrored the carry handle so that it became a fully-enclosed loop. I added the grip from the Chainsaw to where the buttstock used to be, and attached the silencer from the 12.7mm Submachine Gun to the front.

Gameplay-wise, this weapon is identical to the vanilla Light Machine Gun, but with lower weight, and a magazine capacity of 100 rounds instead of 90. The default Light Machine Gun is considered a 'Loud' weapon, but with the silencer attached, I changed this gun to be 'Normal,' so while it is quieter, it's not a stealth weapon. It can be modded with the Expanded Drums mod, although due to the way I had to twist and angle the gun to make it line up with the hand placement animation used with heavy weapons, I didn't want to remake it entirely just to add the bigger drum, so the model stays the same, but the ammo capacity is doubled. I've also added the weapon to all the appropriate form lists, so that all perks and challenges that affect machine guns will work as expected.

Full disclosure, the weapon looks a little goofy when firing, again due to the way I had to rotate the weapon to fit the heavy weapons hand placement. This means that the bullets don't shoot out in-line with the barrel, but I think it just looks so f*cking badass in third-person that it more than makes up for it. If you play in first-person, you probably won't be looking at yourself all that closely anyway.

LOCATION
A weapon as unique as this won't be found just lying around somewhere, so you've got to build it yourself at a workbench. You'll need 1 Light Machine Gun, 1 Chainsaw, 1 12.7mm SMG silencer, the Jury Rigging perk, and a Repair skill of 100. Of course, if you're feeling lazy, you can always use the following console commands (Substitute ## with the number of the mod in your load order):

player.AddItem ##000ADE 1 ;Gives The Warthawg

INSTALLATION
Extract all the files in the archive to your New Vegas data folder (which is the same folder where FalloutNV.esm is located) and then enable the ESP either in your mod manager of choice, or under "Data Files" in the launcher that runs when you start up New Vegas.
