If you already have the perk prior to installing the mod and it doesn't work,try typing in the console "player.removespell 79ae3". The mod only removes the effect of the perk itself so it may not remove pre-existing effects.
Mod is not required: Disabling Bloody Mess Perk Gibing Many players enjoy the additional Damage bonus supplied by this perk but they find the added Gore to be over-the-top or even immersion breaking when a victim is shot in the leg but his head explodes. If the player has access to a Fallout 3 installation on PC, they can use the following console commands to "Fix" the Bloody Mess Perk! To be clear: this will stop the extra animations but will not remove the +5% damage bonus. Once this fix has been applied, it is permanent. The player can then convert the gamesave from PC to XBOX360 and into their Xbox One Cloud. For converting saves, see below. Once the player has their PC Gamesave they can apply the fix:
If the perk has already been taken, open the console and type: Player.modAV bloodymess -1 If the perk has not been taken, type: Player.modAV bloodymess -1 press ENTER and then player.addperk 94EBA
For TTW this doesn't work anymore (3.2.2.) but there is actually a way to make this work without the usage of the mod as explained here https://fallout.fandom.com/wiki/Bloody_Mess_(perk)#Fallout_3_and_Fallout:_New_Vegas look under the fallout3 & new vegas section. There is a command to get rid of the animation effect and it should work fine with TTW.
I installed mid-playthrough but it's still active, I put it super low in my load order, even removing the perk through console commands doesn't stop the effect... (Edit: Nevermind, I got it working.)
But the damage is SO minimal literally the only reason for taking this perk is for the violent deaths. Literally only reason anyone takes the perk is for the hilariously stupid people would take it even if it did 5% less damage
Like I totally get not liking the explosions because it ruins immersion and all but taking the perk for the 5% damage is literally a waste of a perk.;
Says the guy who can't find the point in certain mods and has to try and make excuses for why they shouldn't exist. You're not convincing anyone, this mod has it's use.
Your point literally goes against the spirit of Modding, or Anti Game Modification. Why in the Hell are you guys on NexusMods with that kind of thoughts process.
What you just wrote was the most out-of-place and stupidest thing I have ever seen on Nexusmods. There is literally no way to spin your comment in a way it makes sense. I cannot begin to explain how flabbergasted i am. Having seen this kind of thought process in site that harbors infinity more "Useless" mods than this one.
