OMG. 120Mo became 16.7Go. And some files are duplicates. Like amb_airconditionerventvault_01_lp (1). Why duplicates? I only extracted and converted the BSA. I doubt they are usefull, but not being 100% sure, i can't delete them either. I am unsure if this is really worth it. 16.7Go.
What are the benefits to using this "mod" as opposed to "FNV BSA Decompressor" along with "Ogg Vorbis Libraries"? I think "FNV BSA Decompressor" supersedes this, correct?
Yes FNV BSA Decompressor does the same thing + more so this mod would be a good option for people who don't want their entire game folders decompressed and repacked into a larger file size.
Probably does but that would have most likely been because I did a partial fix of some of the sounds back with Mission Mojave, so YUP would have fixed certain sounds after MMUE included them.
Damn, I think my TTW load order touched the plant pickup sounds/scripts or something. When I pick plants it never plays the twigbreak audio, only that use key noise.
All of these work on my Xbox 360 copy. Also, there's a few DLC audio fixes you could restore that are broken on PC and PS3, such as the mysterious broadcast not playing Vera Keyes "Begin Again". Another thing I noticed when comparing the PS3 build to the PC, is that the White Glove society members have an echo/muffled effect added to dialogue. Sort of like the power helmets from Fallout 3. I don't remember hearing these playing on my Steam copy.
Hi. I'm sorry, but do you know how to mod sound files to Fallout 3? I have converted them both to XMA to XMA2, but the crashes; it doesn't begin. I have other mods as well, but this one... https://www.nexusmods.com/fallout3/mods/13055/?tab=description
Hi, if like me, after following this guide, you have a bug where a weird noise comes up during a combat and doesn't disappear until loading a save, I hunt down the sound that is causing this bug
It's in fallout new vegas\Data\Sound\fx\amb\steampuddle
Delete "amb_steampuddle_01_lp"
I don't know if this bug is very common thought, I post this just in case.
Great guide by the way, foolowed the instructions and it works very well except for this bug. Thanks !
Actually you need to delete steampuddle folder to rid the weird noise entirely. This is common problem to EVE,YUP and UP+ user as they will flag ash/goo pile and impact sound with AMBSteamPuddleLP.
OH MAN I COULD KISS YOU!!!!!! (Have a kudos instead though) This has been driving me absolutely NUTS for the past few days, every single time ED-E, or anybody else with a LAser Rifle or Pistol fired their laser, I ended up with that annoying ambient sound that would only go away if I reloaded.
I was just about ready to scrap my entire install and install the GOG version to see if THAT fixed anything. Wow, I finally got rid of it thanks to you. I'm gonna copy/Paste your comment everywhere it's needed to help others.
Can you do this technique with all audio in the game, can you basically use this to improve the audio quality of everything? Can you do it with mod too? with mod organizer? Or is it just those very specific audio files? If it's possible would you mind having a guide on this too pretty please?
Followed guide, added files to a zip and loaded through modorganizer.
For some reason, there's just loud ambient sounds that are on no matter if you're near anything or not.
In the middle of the wasteland i can hear a fire burning as if i'm right next to one, no matter where i am. In goodsprings i hear some sort of generator no matter where i go, same loud sound, even though none near by.
Not sure if i missed something? Followed guides pretty clearly and am by no means an amateur.. I think this does something to the game that breaks the sounds. :S
I also had this problem, but managed to fix it. When using the BSA Browser, after selecting the .ogg files in the right pane, right-click and choose "Extract Folders" on the context menu.
When I tried the first time, I used the button on the bottom: "Extract All Folders" and got the wrong ambient sounds.
