An excellent idea, its far better than the way it was implemented in vanilla. I wonder though if "tens" was deliberate or if ""dozens" would be better. Jut one tip, if you activate the book before the reset (stepping outside of the tutorial zone) it seems to reset. I think i may only be if you choose different traits but am not sure. I've noticed this with other ""wild" mods as well. so its better to leave the book after you've set the traits permenantly
"Tens" feels like it was intended as a joke, like how "There are tens of us" is less impressive/intimidating than "there are hundreds of us". It's in keeping with the spirit of the Wild Wasteland, anyways.
Just saw the picture for your latest version, wanted to provide you with some updated text for the message box that is a little cleaner (feel free to use it or not):
This book describes the experiences of men claiming to have been abducted by aliens. Tens of people have contributed their weird and astounding tales. You wonder to yourself if these stories could be true. Do you believe in extraterrestrials?
The new vegas player is of course unvoiced, so the mention of "aliens" could be in the player's hands. So, we just need the doc to ask a question that could have "aliens" in the answers; "What do you think of mysterious lights in the sky?" Then let the player have sensible, normal answers (non-wild wasteland, so they need to seem serious) and then one weird "aliens" answer. I don't know if he said those words either, but that's the general idea.
So, now I have two possible ways of resolving this problem. First - to get this trait throught the Doc Mitchell' psycho test (which I've already made, but it doesn't look such good and throw us back to the problem of wasting dialog lines to get trait instead of calculating skill points). And the second - to create some magazine about UFO, aliens etc. that make player wonder and answer a question believes he in aliens or not through the dialog box.
He doesn't. I tried for a bit and then became distracted. Now my New Vegas doesn't even work, so I'm working on fixing that first. I reïnstalled Windows 10 and that fixed everything that was wrong with my PC and even my GECK, but New Vegas isn't playable anymore. Tested vanilla and that works, so now comes the fun of tracking down which of my 200 or so mods have caused a problem that they weren't causing when my Windows installation was so bad that it prevented my PC from starting unless I booted it twice any time I wanted to boot it.
All that is to say that one day, I do hope to get this done. I love the concept.

Also: I'm not going to download or test it for a long while, so if you want me to do that, you'll have to tell me so.
