If you're using a controller and trying to reduce your aim sensitivity, skip the trouble of trying to get this mod to work and just use lStewieAl's Tweaks. It has the same requirements as this mod, but I recommend the optional Mod Configuration Menu, otherwise you need to manually edit the .ini. The specific tweak you'll use for this problem is "Turn Slower While Aiming".
1. Open the mod in geck 2. Look for the aim script 3. Change all instances of IsControlPressed 6 to isKeyPressed 30 (or whatever key you want, 30 is A) 4. Map your left trigger to the A key 5. Profit
Still a great mod in 2019. Needs a mod config menu ;)
This is exactly the mod I need for my controller, but I just don't understand what I'm supposed to do. Console commands do nothing, there's no tool in my inventory and I didn't get the part with the whole mapping thing in xpadder. And yes, I have NVSE installed.
I know this reply is a good 2 months late but wanted to put something here for others like me using a controller and looking for a good aim assist.
This mod is great. Once installed, you should have an item in your Apparel inventory that you can use to make adjustments. Lower the multiplier to what you want and then exit. Aim with your scoped weapon using your controller and use your left pinky to press L-ALT and it does the trick. No need for Xpadder.
I'm using a controller, ps3 controller. You can download the DS3 tool or the Better DS3 tool Here's the link to Better DS3: http://betterds3.ciebiera.net/ Here's the link to DS3 Tool: http://www.motioninjoy.com/download
BTW this mod is great and goes very well with a controller, I was getting very frustrated that no matter where I set the sensitivity it still was never good enough. thanks polbashkisneslo for making this mod! you really don't know how much this means to me! XD This mod Should be essential to people who play third person and with a controller.
However, I found a small bug, the settings I've changed for the aim sensitivity also changes the sensitivity of my orbital cam. Is this a bug or am I doing something wrong?
I'm not sure why, but I could not get this to work with my Xbox 360 controller. I read and re-read the description in which I noticed you saying to not map block to the mouse. I have unmapped the controls to both the mouse and keyboard, but to no avail. My Sensitivity is still to high while aiming. I does work great for the mouse, however, so I'll probably just move to that.
Regardless of my incompetence in activating this mod, I appreciate the effort you put into it so I won't have to. Thank you.
May I ask how you remapped the trigger? I don't understand what the description is asking. I downloaded DS4 Tool and now I don't know where to map the "trigger." Does the author mean the attack button? How did you do this? I really want to use my controller with this mod.
Trigger is a thingy on XBox controller which is used by Fallout for aiming mode by default. Mapping means assigning it (or whatever is used for the same role on your controller) to respective key on keyboard, so pushing the button doubles as pressing the key.
This is like the "Metal God Nirnroot" mod from Skyrim - something you never knew you needed until you saw it in the window, and now you can't imagine playing the game without it.
I got it all to work correctly except i can't seem to map it to my DS4, i am on Windows 10 using DS4 windows http://ds4windows.com/ . I would appreciate any help i can get.
Wait, you can play this game with Dualshock 4? Steam already has DS4 supported but not for the game itself, so will I need to install this to make it work for this one?

If you use Lutana NVSE Plugin, this awesome mod works without problems with an Xbox360 controller.
As soon as you enable the DirectInput emulation method ingame with the Lutana plugin, you get the menu item and the sensitivity is instantly reduced.
Excellent job!
