So with the announcement of Fallout 4 I'm at a bit of a loss as to what to do with this mod.
Before real life took over I hadn't got all that far in my planned update, what I had done was: Completely redo when and how you meet him. Remade his first two quests. Most of a new third quest was done but it wasn't finished and parts were a little buggy. Record a handful of dialogue, all the quest dialogue and personal questions. Made a custom face texture for him.
For now I do have time to get back into modding for a bit, but when Fallout 4 comes out I would like to move onto that as soon as I could (assuming you can mod the game of course) So at this point I don't think completing the update is something worth doing.
What I'm considering instead is releasing a smaller update that's basically an updated version of the current mod on here, with the two quests remade and the voice acting redone and finished. I wouldn't finish the third quest because it leaves things unresolved.
Of course this really depends on whether or not there's any interest in seeing any kind of update, so let me know what you think.
I'd love to see the smaller update, and I'm sure a lot of other people would as well. I'm glad to hear you're planning to mod for Fallout 4. Both your mods for Fallout New Vegas have been great so it'll be good to see you create more
Late to reply to here but I would definitely like to see an update to Desmond. He's one of the few companions that fit into the world well.
So here's hoping you'll decide to update Desmond with whatever you planned on doing. I wouldn't worry about modding Fallout 4 right away, I don't think the modding tools are going to be released until Q1 or Q2 of next year.
I'm just starting out with Desmond and would love to see you finish with him in FONV; at least the smaller update you mentioned. I'm actually replaying FONV, so that I'll have the Fallout universe fresh in my mind for when Fallout 4 comes out. Your characters are among the best, so I'm sure whatever you do in #4 will be great. But please finish up this one so that there are no dangling ends. Thanks so much for your hard work and for sharing it with us.
Im liking so much this mod's quests, currently in the middle of it (Bunker part). But the levels are so well maded and the environment as well, congratulations for the work!
Has anybody tried this with the newest round of JohnnyGuitar, SUP and all of them things? Is anything broken about this now with an "up to date" (utility wise) Fallout New Vegas install?
So far, nice mod but I'm stuck on the second quest in which there is a key to the bunker that I need and I have no idea where that is and was wondering where I can find a way into the bunker?
How do you start the second quest? I completed the first quest, found Desmond's radio, and exhausted all dialogue options but idk how to start Gravemakers and Gunslingers
Never mind, after a little while of traveling with him a new line opened up that started the quest. I merged this mod with like 20 other mods and i wasnt sure if it was working totally correctly but it seems to be

Hope you come back to FONV some time.
