About this mod

A Mod to provide new textures for three Unique OWB weapons: \"Elijah\'s Advanced Laer,\" \"Elijah\'s Jury-Rigged Tesla Cannon,\" and \"Christine\'s COS Silencer Rifle.\" As well as two Vanilla Game weapons: \"Q-35 Matter Modulator,\" and \"Tesla-Beaton Prototype.\"

Added a new improved texture for the "Q-35 Matter Modulator" (1024x1024 vs. the muddy 512x512, I might get around to fixing the texture of the "Tesla-Beaton Prototype," but that's a whole other beast)

If you're anything like me, you enjoyed Old World Blues, but were baffled by the textures of 3 particular weapons: "Elijah's Advanced Laer," "Elijah's Jury-Rigged Tesla Cannon," and "Christine's COS Silencer Rifle." Sure, two of them could be written off as "Oh, all the changes are of the interior mechanical sort," but this is New Vegas! And every unique weapon deserves it's own texture!

Now, as for explanations:

Elijah's Advanced L.A.E.R. - I took the original L.A.E.R. texture and modified the color scheme to match that of the palette of the Roboscorpion. After all, the "advanced" part of the name must come from being technologically advanced right? And there are few things in Big Mountain that are more technologically advanced than the Roboscorpions. So my justification was that Elijah deactivated a scorpion ('cause killing it would make it explode :P), then cannibalized it for parts to improve a pair of L.A.E.R.s he found. (On a side note, did you know that "L.A.E.R." is an acronym within an acronym? It stands for "Laser Assisted Electrical Rifle," but the word "Laser" itself is an acronym, which stands for "Light Amplification by Stimulated Emission of Radiation." So the full name of the L.A.E.R. is "Light Amplification by Stimulated Emission of Radiation Assisted Electrical Rifle." But that's neither here nor there).

Elijah's Jury-Rigged Tesla Cannon - This one irked me when I originally found it in Old World Blues. I understand that it looks like a modified Tesla Cannon, but why does it look EXACTLY like the "Tesla-Beaton Prototype?" Was Elijah there when they built the thing, and memorized the schematics? So I decided a few changes were in order. Now, being that the weapon has "Jury-Rigged" in the name, I wanted it to look cobbled together from Big Mt. robot parts. I already used the Roboscorpion for the L.A.E.R., so I opted for using a blue metal that resembles that of a Securitron, and a green metal from Robobrains. Add some generic red wires and a sweet green glass tube in the middle, and we have ourselves a new texture!

Christine's COS SIlencer Rifle - The easiest of the additions. Being that Christine was from the elite "Circle of Steel" of the Brotherhood of Steel, it didn't make much sense that her gun was as dirty and beat up as your average, run of the mill sniper rifle. So, add a bit of polish to the metal for a Stainless Steel/Titanium look, slap on a nice Brotherhood of Steel logo (it's in front of the ammo cartridge) and you've got yourself one fancy looking Sniper Rifle.

This is my first mod, so I expect there to be a few problems. Nothing ever works perfectly on the first try. I expect conflict with other mods will occur if anything alters the weapon data for the three unique weapons. But if you have even a smidgen of FNVEdit knowledge, it shouldn't be a real problem.

To install, simply extract the file archive straight into your Fallout: New Vegas folder, everything should line up by itself after that.

Oh, and of course, you need AT LEAST Fallout: New Vegas and the Old World Blues Add-on for this o do anything.
