Would you be able to use the mesh an animations from the lightning an an unarmed animation or move to make sith lightning hands? Ive been looking for a mod like that for a while but no one has it, if its possible i think itd be a cool project.
Nice idea, unfortunately the Hands weapon has no projectile nodes, the game doesn't know where to place the lightning when you're firing, so it comes from the player's pelvis instead...
It'd be possible technically to add a projectile node, but it'd still only fire semi-automatic. can't do constant attacks unless you want to have some kind of hilarious "fists of fury" situation where you're punching insanely fast and every punch hurls a lightning bolt...
I'll think on this further, but I think that's the most direct solution. an alternative would be an "invisible" pistol with which you can see the player's hands in a pistol-holding pose. so it just shoots lightning from the fist constantly. it'd look weird and have no sane looking animations. but it'd let you fire streams of lightning rather than distinct bolts.
i have a real bad bug with this, some of the floors and walls disappear while underground (like in caves or bunkers) making it possible to fall through the areas. it's really game breaking and didn't start until I went into the bunker to get the gun.
Hi Atticus, if you haven't already, try disabling the mod and exploring those same areas. failing that, disable all mods and do the same. add mods back until it starts happening again.
I did actually play with making the Tesla Trooper armor at one point..made a custom powerfist that shoots lightning This was quite a long time ago though, before I really got to grips with modding. Might be cool to go back and remake it with what I know now
I like the idea of the holopistol...I was looking for a project involving the holo-projectile....
not so sure about the tesla-thrower pistol...Tesla weapons are traditionally very large bulky and powerful the smallest I've made and liked was mostly made using the plasma rifle, with bits of a tesla cannon for good measure (this is part of my "Mad Science!" mod)
Ya your beam is way better, but I did really like the Arc Welder body. But I love the nozzle/thing on yours. And the mad-scribe thing is a great backstory! And im just suggesting this to modders who do good meshes, a Holopistol, with the same scope as the Holorifle, and the same theme-thing but a hand-held pistol. And since we're on the topic, a pistol of your thrower would be sweet!
