Just got into playing Caravan , after many playthroughs . It's awesome . I didn't even know about the limitation . This looks essential for me . Thanks again for your great work , man .
@MasterFroglicker: That's because those characters don't have a limit on the number of games of caravan they will play. This is intentional, since with the exception of Dale Barton none of them are merchants, meaning you can't play against them repeatedly to win infinity-billion caps.
I've considered adding a limit to Dale Barton, but he's so late in the game that it's not quite as much of an issue as it is with the other merchants. I dunno about you, but by the time I first set foot in Fortification Hill I've got just about everything I could possibly want to buy anyway.
I just downloaded this and while thumbing through it in fnvedit to check for compatibility i noticed one of the embedded scripts doesnt account for caravan functionality having been added to a few new npcs by beth. in particular, Little Buster, Isaac, and dale barton.
@killergrimm, Dynastia: I can't figure out why the plugin wouldn't be working. I've gone over my code and it is the exact same code in all the situations, save for which variable it sets corresponding to which player it is. No idea why it would fail.
To be safe, I've moved things around a bit for those two players. The variable is now set in a previously blank portion of the dialogue script. This MIGHT fix it, so we'll see.
@sinjen: Yes, its in the dialogues. The option to play caravan against these players has an added condition that a certain quest variable be less than 5. The quest variable is increased by one each time you select the dialogue option.
What I should point out is that just selecting the option, even if you wind up canceling the game, counts. The game will increment the total anyway.

Although a part of me wishes I could still play unlimited amounts of games with merchants, even though it feels a tad like cheating.
Maybe add an optional file for that, just so people can choose which they like best.
