I've been trying to get this to work with Vortex but when I download it, I don't get any options to select the poses in Vortex. I downloaded a couple other mods and got the menu in Vortex, selected the animations I wanted, but they didn't work in game. It's weird because other animation mods I download w/ Vortex work as intended.
For anyone trying to get it to work here is what you have to do. We are going to install it all manually in vortex rather than use the mod manager download option since that doesn't work. 1. install both the files from this mod (pistols and riffles, you can do only 1 if you want) manually in whatever folder you want, I just keep as downloads and work in that folder. 2. After that use 7 zip or a similar program to extract the files, again I use downloads. Do this both the files you downloaded manually from this mod. You should have two separate folders. 3. Download this mod: https://www.nexusmods.com/newvegas/mods/43240?tab=description I used the "NMM Version" but idk if that makes a difference, this mod here is going to be the base file we will use eventually add to nexus so its needed so we can combine both the animations from this mod to be able to use in game. 4. Extract that file from step 3 with 7zip in downloads (or whatever folder you use) just like we did in step 2. 5. Copy the animations from both the pistol and riffle folders into the mod folder from step 4. only the folders are needed. (here is a YouTube video of what to combine for those confused, this guy doesn't use vortex, but the same principle applies to make the file we will need to install through vortex manually. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bpSCya407Q0&t=88s 6. After you combine all the folders into the base folder from step 4, right click that folder use 7zip and select "add to archive" you should have a RAR file. 7. Install that RAR file manually in Vortex using the "Install from file option in Vortex (top left corner when in the "Mods" menu.) find the RAR file we made in last step and install it. you should be given the menu to select what animations you want from this mod. Optional last step: if you have any mod order conflict messages in vortex use your best judgement to order the mods right. Hit deploy.
assuming you did all that and don't have any conflicts with mod order it should all work like it did for me. GOOD LUCK MODDING.
This mod is outdated as you probably know. Use War - Mix instead if you want 3rd person animations and use any other 1st person animation replacer except for Asurah's because that'll require you to give up the 3rd person animations
Not really good advice, I downloaded it and that's only for 1st person.
The MAIN aspect of people wanting this mod here is that it has selectable options for 3rd person. It also has options for 1st but that just lowers or raises the weapon in 1st. The highlight of this mod was its cool 3rd poses.
3rd person has this missing frame when facing the middle, the character is either facing upward or downward. When doing vats, the character is glitching where it face upward missing the target.
Hey, in case anyone is having the same problem I did where it seemed like this mod wasn't working and the animations weren't changing, you might need to check any other mods you have that possibly could have 3rd person animations that are overwriting this mod's. For me, I found out that WAP Year One and Bonus has 3rd person animations for the service rifle, assault carbine, and marksman carbine, all of which were overwriting WAR's animations and I didn't even know that mod does that. I really hope this helps someone out there because this frustrated me so much.
there is no such a things as "incompatibility" with mod organizer, you just have to right click the folder that should be the data folder and select "set as <data> directory, it literally gives you a tutorial the first time that popup shows up

Has anyone got this to work with Vortex?

It gives variations of animations for different npcs and the player
I managed to install it with MO2 but the Gunslinger doesn't work with me it's weird all the other positions work though
