It's too bad this was basically released and abandoned back in 2010. I'm sure it worked great then, and for a while, probably even for a long time, and it sounds ideal from the descriptions. I have found simpler but more recent mods which promise to make similar improvements::
Better Saves (release: 12/2018, last update: 3/2022) or
But lStewie's Tweaks are most likely going to end up on every load order anyway, and I'm curious where you configure the save options. I have it, but by default I'm not getting any timed autosaves and there's still just the one autosave slot.
edit: *FACEPALM* O I C, you actually have to go into Settings > Tweaks in the game and enable the option called "SaveManager" in the lefthand pane. Doieee :3
lStewie's Tweaks include a full-featured and configurable save manager that will handle both autosaves and rotating incremental saves. Check it out if you're looking for a more modern save manager.
The mod complains about the Lutana NVSE Plugin not being present even though JIP LN NVSE plugin has included it for a long time now. Will parts of CASM_NV really not function like the message says or can I ignore the warning?
CASM was good, but it's too complex in my opinion, including many features I wasn't really utilized. And all those could have some negative effect on your system performance.
Nowadays I use Simple Saves, it only does one thing: auto save every five minutes with a five safe slot. (Witch cover about 25-30 minutes of gameplay in case you fucked up unexpectedly.) It's much light weighted and didn't impact the system performance like CASM did. Just do the manual saving and quick save regularly to be safe.
In case anyone still reads this: Is there a way to stop CASM from deleting old saves? I f***ed up big time just a couple minutes before the last kept save. So now it's: Save 372: Vault 101 Entrance 00.57 Hours Save 394: Rivet city 02.52 Hours I f***ed up my story shortly before Save 394 but all the saves inbetween are gone! I'm SICK of the way Bethesta games delete old saves, cost me more than just a few hours of game time. Thankfully I f***ed up so often that I can finish the first few quests in a matter of minutes but still
Kinda a huge problem but when i use CASM FNV runs at 2FPS constantly, i removed all mods and did a complete reinstall of FNV but the problem still was there so im playing without it. Any suggestions? Im using no mods whatsoever and using the steam version
So after 50 hours CASM stopped working. It says that its saving every 5 minutes but when I look in my saves no new save is created. The hotkey is not working either but I can not remember if I've ever used that when it was working. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Okay but doesn't that overwrite your other characters? I have 3 characters going, and as this isn't like fallout 4, they all have the same save file. So I'm guessing if you used more than one character you can't really use this.
That's why CASM has five profile options...each character should have their own profile.
And having/not having other mods installed has no bearing at all on how this functions. Dunno what fraserthorp's problem was, but I SERIOUSLY doubt that it had anything to do with CASM.
