    Hello!
    Just launched the mod, and to this I experienced a huge disappointment, I did not find what I actually installed the mod for - the wild mage class.
    Is its absence related to the difficulty of adapting its mechanics to another game, or is it related to the fact that, as I heard, when developing the mod, much attention was paid to transferring the plot, than the others components of the original game?

      I made 3 new classes;, and they were really hard to do, good implementations for them to works correctly took months.

      As for the wild mage, the goal of the project is to transfert the baldur's gate saga into the NWN2 engine and ruleset. The wild mage isn't part of it. It would be cool but it's clearly out of scope at the moment.

    Hi 

    I installed this mod when it first came out  in 2013and it worked fine on my old pc. Now, years later, I got a new PC (running Windows Pro 11) and I can't seem to get the install to work.

    The directions say "Place all 6 .RAR files into your Neverwinter Nights 2 *My Documents* directory (Libraries/Documents/Neverwinter Nights 2). Use "Extract All" on all 6 parts
    Select "Yes" to merge all folders"

    So the problem is that my version of windows doesn't use the 'My Documents' but instead uses 'onedrive/personal/documents/nwn2...". Also, when I choose 'extract all', it only extracts one of the rar folders, not all of them (even if I have them all selected). And finally, I don't get any prompts asking me to 'merge all folders'

    Any help would be greatly appreciated. I'm not sure when SOAR is coming out, but I'd really like to replay BGR before it comes out.

      The installation should work on win 11 without any problem I am on win 11 and evertything is fine.

      I am the "scripter" , and the one who did the full TOSC part.

      I made a real correction pass on 2023 for BGR ( more than 1000 bugs corrected, fusion with the unofficial patch, a craffting system based on NWN2 system, and many more). I should have done it when the mod was out but I was totally "burned out", This last version was made to test SOAR (BG2+ TOB reloaded) systems, and to be fully compatible with SOAR which will be out this year I think.... But that last version was the "first steps" for SOAR release.

      With all the nexus drama and other issues, I don't have access to this Nexus account.

      Hi Shallina - thanks for responding. So on the link you sent, the only files shown are these 3:

      does this mean I should ignore the files I got from nexus mods and download and run these 3 files instead?

      yes. It s just the lastest version with updated files. There are "core corrections" The packaging is different the haks are probably the same.  the version ont the vault is the "full package", but "a heavy corrected patckage".

      I played it from time to time after the release, and corrected a lot of stuff while playing it.. Then a mega unofficial patch which was awesome was made whichh corrected a lot of things which I nevers paid attention to.

      And when SOAR started to become "real", SOAR has so much more advanced feature, that I decided, to "correct BGR", and port into BGR all the new stuff from SOAR.  I worked with the person who made the unofficial patch to import all his corrections, and to correct much much more, and to bring BGR at the level we wanted when we made it with Drew. i stil spot things I'd like to correct/tweak, but they aren't bad at all, and I don't feel the necessity to correct them "on the spot" anymore, unlike before, where I couldn 't play BGR without correcting it all the time while playing it.

      There are 4 main differences.

      1 The rest system has been fully "reworked" to work like in the original game, it was made in SOAR , and I decided to port it in BGR.
      2 There is now a full craft system that make use of the craft skills, it's a limited version of the full one which is in SOAR.
      3 There is a build in transition to SOAR. You character/items and companion are saved, and are rebuilt in SOAR. to be exactly like you did
      4 new prestiges classes (3 dual casters classes like the mystic theurge) (not that usefull for BGR since the game stop at 10).
      them in BGR if you wish to continue with them in SOAR.

      But the main improvement is that's it's "cleaner"  and heavilly corrected.


      There was also a very nasty bug with the death system when a "familliar" was killed, it took me a lot of time to figure this one out.

      Hi again...I will attempt to install this week

      So basically, for the modules folder, all the folders from BG_A to TOSC_E should be individually put directly into the Documents\Neverwinter Nights 2\modules\ folder, not drag the whole modules folder into the modules folder so it would read Documents\Neverwinter Nights 2\modules\modules\BGA....etc

      in other words, it should go straight from modules\BGR folders, not modules\modules\bgr folders?

      in other words, by the end of it, only one folder in there needs to say modules?

      Ok, I got it to work but it turns out I had to install everything into the Program Files (86)/Atari/Neverwinter Nights 2 folders rather than the Users/Windows/Documents/Neverwinter Nights 2 folders folders for it to run on my PC...I hope it'll keep working from in there

      Also, it's been a long time since I played this mod (about 7 years now) so I don't remember - the movement penalty and huge save penalty that my character starts out with - is that supposed to be there and if so, does that go away at some point?

      I tried resting at the inn, but it didn't seem to work (giving myself 1 gp from the console) just to see if resting would work, but it didn't, so is the resting to get rid of the penalty scripted in at some point?

      I plan on really playing later on when I have more time, so for now, I just wanted to get it set up on my PC first before really sitting down and replaying it

      So are these 3 files all you need to ply BGR? Don't need the original 6 from the Nexus?

      They are the same files, they are just packaged in 3 .zip instead of 6.

    Is it ok to use the client extension with this? (Edit) I have tried it without and I still get the AI bug. I'm also trying using it with nothing else but the BGR mod (no Tchos UI ) to see if that helps but it hasn't chnaged anything, even with a new save.

      AI problem you got sometyhing else than BGR installed somewhere that is tweaking it.

      I tried several advanced AI, they all falled short somewhere, so there is no custom AI in BGR, normally exxcept if you installed somethiing else somewhere.

      Client extension. is great for multiplayer and for several things.

      I noticed it has bug with single players, nothing bad or game breaking, it's  a trade off.. BGR works perfectly fine with it, but Get the client extensions correction with the clientsd extensions bugsd, or get the "normal client" with several problems that the client extension corrected.

      Ok thankyou for your reply. I ran a plain nwn2 install with a plain BGR install from the new SOAR page. So there are no other mods installed. I created a new Pala char just to be safe. He is still firing off his smite evil when he gets out of candlekeep (He's ok in CK because the enemies aren't aligned evil), I had set it to off in the behaviour. Sometimes he hits the enemies without it then all of a sudden he fires it off, I see it on screen and also in the dice log. For some strange reason I cannot get this to work properly with SOAR version on win 11. When I played this mod first time round in the 2010's it deffo worked on win 10. Not saying there's a fault at your end but I just wondered if you might know what's up? ( it is happening when I take control of Imoen to position her for a sneak attack, The main is on AI and tanking, he fires of smite evil). Ok update edit it turns out it's something in Neverwinter Nights that's doing it, I have tried the same character with a plain NWN OC install and he's doing it in that too with no mods installed. I honestly have no idea what's causing this. I also have just found this post from way back so it's not just me https://rpgwatch.com/forum/threads/ai-settings-to-stop-smite-evil.17784/.

    Hi I just installed the new version from your link on the 11th feb. I'm getting a bug in the FA Inn. Jaheira is summoning her bear repeatedly after I manually unsummon it even though there is no summons left for that day. I have also turned off unsummon in her behaviour and she ignores it. Not sure if you were aware of this one.

      I didn 't touch the AI, and I have nevers seen this problem. The probability is that there is something somewhere in your NWN2 folders causing this.

      I'm definately having issues with AI, I made a Pala and he is using smite evil on AI even though I have switched it off. I have tried 3 careful reinstalls of the files since. I have no idea what I am doing wrong.

      Only the visual part.


      If something is good and finished it's al ready in BGR normally. If it's not al ready in, most of the time it's beceause there is something wrong with it.

      A "tweaked/corrected" Kaedrin pack is included in BGR.

    Just a quick question regarding enchantments, maybe there's something wrong on my part.

    I have the book and I have the recipe(s), but when I combine the recipe with the book and then open the book, it's all blank. I can change the page with the little arrow in the bottom corner, but all I see are blank pages.

    So I'm guessing I'm missing something here.

    But at the same time, I have all the files in the correct place.

    I do use a GUI mod, but other than that, my game is pretty much vanilla.

      The texts are in bgr_custom_tlk, it has been updated.

      ReadBook is one of NWN2 "strange stuff'", a file without extension.

      You need booth of them. I don' t think it works if you switch controlled character while reading the book.

      if it doesn't work it s always an installation problem.

      either something is missing / misplaced  or something is cancelled "overiden" by something else. Finding what's going on can sometime be a real nightmare.  Those features use also GUi files, but... the book can open and flip pages. You are only missing the "texts" they are in bgr_custom.tlk. 80% of chance that your problem is with this the custom tlk. Could also be a gui file, but I doubt it, the book wouldn't even open.
