I have a question, every time I kill an enemy it drops at least 4 or 5 unidentified items (even some quest items or craft items are unidentified), is this normal?
Just a quick question regarding enchantments, maybe there's something wrong on my part.
I have the book and I have the recipe(s), but when I combine the recipe with the book and then open the book, it's all blank. I can change the page with the little arrow in the bottom corner, but all I see are blank pages.
So I'm guessing I'm missing something here.
But at the same time, I have all the files in the correct place.
I do use a GUI mod, but other than that, my game is pretty much vanilla.
The texts are in bgr_custom_tlk, it has been updated.
ReadBook is one of NWN2 "strange stuff'", a file without extension.
You need booth of them. I don' t think it works if you switch controlled character while reading the book.
if it doesn't work it s always an installation problem.
either something is missing / misplaced or something is cancelled "overiden" by something else. Finding what's going on can sometime be a real nightmare. Those features use also GUi files, but... the book can open and flip pages. You are only missing the "texts" they are in bgr_custom.tlk. 80% of chance that your problem is with this the custom tlk. Could also be a gui file, but I doubt it, the book wouldn't even open.
So, I'm ejoying the SOAR version (Baldur's gate day/night script instability aside, ugh), and I had a question about enchantments.
Now, I found a dex enchantment, I was wondering if there were any other stat enchantments? I'd really like to find a strength or charisma one.
edit - ok, found out the enchantment merchant in BG refreshes and randomizes stock on load. Why do this? It just makes it take longer to get what I want, plus some less stubborn person might not realize this :/
All enchantments recipe can be found in the game, tmost are hidden and need the search skill, some are just waiting to be looted, and some are on creatures (like the belt fetishist ogre). You don' t need to go the merchants to acquire them. Everything related to enchantement can be acquired without buying anything to the merchant (except for the mold).
BG is a trilogy. The first one ended with most characters (2e rules) around 6th or 7th level, which would be a close approximation of 10th level in 3.5. The 2nd game and expansion were designed with the equivalent of 20th level in 3.5 and epic for ToB, which is what bgr2 is going to have.
At least the correct scope of danger is kept in mind. You're not taking on god like beings at level 10. <COUGH, BG3, COUGH>
- Scar multiplied after first entering Flaming Fist barracks! Nothing massive (even later with Duke Eltan you interact with only one) but actually funny, there are 5-6 of them the second time you enter the barracks and they stay there. - I can't obtain the Cloak of Balduran from Quenash, i've talked with her BEFORE having started the quest for the Helm and now she just repeat to get off; the Cloak is also not pickpocketable and she can't be killed, so no way obtaining it (this is the only annoying bug yet). I suppose is needed to not talk to her till the quest - Donating 100000 gold to a temple doesn't change your alignment, it actually donates twice (so 200000); i've found this one by accident, i was just trying the option
I'm having a lot of fun, i hope it was helpful. Being close to ending the mod, of course i have to ask, any ETA for SOAR? Sorry, couldn't resist :D

Scar : Found it and corrected it, good spot. Quenash : this one works: I did it 3 times(pickpocket and the testers did it as well), you can also kill her to get it. (right click on her and attack on the radial menue works with physical attacks) She is not plot or immortal so you can kill her, but many of the undercellar will turn hostile. No bug she is ok normally. Donation : yup found and corrected it, except in Nashkel seems to be correct there but all the other priests were crooks.
Did you do TOSC ? Durlarg Tower, and the 2 islands ?
SOAR: I hope to have a full build with everything early 2024 and to start a full testing at that time for a release during summer 2024. Only Suldanessellar and Ust-Nata are missing. Everything done has been tested and played, but by "plots", not all together.
For Queenash it's weird, i tried to pickpocket her but wasn't targetable, i tried to kill her and it showed a message "it's not allowed due to PvP rules" or something like that... Still didn't complete TOSC, i went to Ulgoth's beard and did the frozen dungeon (everything ok) and i took the sea charts in Baldur's Gate for Mendas. I've just accessed to Durlag Tower and got the book for Wisdom increase, nothing else.
i didn t set your server, it's supposed to be played as a single player module.
If a server is set it means you are in a multiplayer configuration I guess. You need to adjust your server setting for them to match the default single player one.
i already did. I only have the companion ai mod from tonyk, which does not add any custom class
edit: the impossibility of multiclassing my character happened only today and i use companion ai mod since more than 5 days and level up party was fullu functional with multiclass too
The best would be to give me a save game where the bug occurs so I could check what is going on. It's probably something on your side, but that lvl 5 limits is worrying me beceause it makes no sense.
Are you sure your companions have the requirement for the classes ? Which companions can't you multi class ? Are you using BGR 1.4 or the one from the nexus ?
- Khalid can 't be multiclassed, the harper agent class is a "gimmick" to remind poeple he is a harper but he can nevers get the requirement for it, since he would need some spellcaster level.
-Jaheira : She can take warpriest and harper agent.But you need the requirement to take them.You can 't meet the requirement for warpriest befor lvl 7 I think for the harper agent you need the feat negociator, and the required lvl in skills. 8 in diplomacy you can get 2 at lvl 1, so it's not before lvl 8 I guess, since you'll hit 8 at lvl 7 if you take it all the time.
- Imoen You can always take the wizard/rogue. The Arcarne trickser can 't be taken before lvl 8 if you plan well for it, The arcane schollar if you aim for it, you will only be able to get it at 9 or 10 given the requirement. So probably only the first level I didn t try the shadow dancer with her, but I see hide skill at lvl 10. Which mean if you plan for the class it will be at lvl 10 I think so only the first lvl in BGR Guild thief is hide 8 so it's impossible before lvl8
Those are "prestige class", you need to meet the requirement listed in their description in order to take them. And none of them can be taken at lvl 5, the requirements needed for them needs more level to be acquired.
If you have those characters with you at the end, their build will transfert in the sequel which will comme out next year and will push the lvl to 30. BGR stops at 10.
If you are unfamilliar with how D&D 3.5 works, you can read the NWN2 manual, it explains a lot of it.
i know how prestige classes work, the reason is another. Prestige classes don't appear when i level up jaheira (formerly they were greyed out) and imoen has only the rogue option
You did something. I don 't know what. but it's all campaign related, it's not saved in save game,, so if you restore the "BGR" campaign directory and empty your override everything should be back to normal.
Everything related to classes is in C:\Users\Windows\Documents\Neverwinter Nights 2\Campaigns\BGR\soar_customclass
"soar_companion.NSS" it is this file who govern the class companions can take, but if you want to change it, you need to compile everything back in order for it to work if you change it.
Is it normal that your module breaks level up in the base campaigns and other modules? If it so should i have to delete bgr files in order to complete other campaigns and modules?
REMOVING ingameguix2.ini IN C:\Users\Windows\Documents\Neverwinter Nights 2\ui\default should be enought.
yup it breaks it, I know why I am going to fix this. But you only need to restore ingameguix2.ini for ti to work.
An other solution is to move soar_customclass in the override folder if you wish to use the classes used in BGR.
In the next uploaded version it will be fixed so you could keep BGR fully installed without breaking the normal level up. It was in my todo list, I guess I forgot it.

I too had the "Quenash set to friendly" bug. I had to console in the cloak. nevermind, saw that it had to do with difficulty.
Also, I couldn't infiltrate the bandit camp which is weird because I was able to do that just fine in the previous version of BGR.
Also, as mentioned in my post about enchantments, holy hell are the day/night scripts in BG city unstable :P
Didn't notice it on the previous version because I was playing my home comp, but I've been playing this one on my laptop (and it's still a fairly powerful laptop), and I have like a 50% chance of not crashing when going from day to night (or vice versa) with every program closed in the background (100% crash if anything is open).
edit - also, as a side note related to the bandit camp infiltration, I've had a lot of situations that it FEELS like I should be able to resolve peacefully (indeed you could in the original BG) result in violence like Ragefast. And this shouldnt have anything to do with diplomacy or bluff or intimidate because I'm playing a very charismatic warlock/bard with beguiling influence. Heck, my diplomacy is around 28 when fully buffed. These kinds of checks should NOT be failing :/
Hello, i finally had the chance to go on with the game, i'm actually very close to end it; i almost completed ToSC (have just to kill Aec'Letec) and i need to go back to Baldur's Gate for complete the last chapter, i just wanted to add few bugs:
- i've realised why i couldn't pickpocket the Cloak of Balduran, it depends of Difficulty: if it's "Normal" you can't kill neither pickpocket Queenash. I've realised it trying to pickpocket a couple of characters found in some tavern, they were talking about wine and seven years passed :D - Module for Baldur's Gate it's too big, the cicle day/night sometimes crash the game due to behaviour of NPCs (i suppose) - In Temple of Umberlee even if you already got Carsson's child back you will find it in Priestess corpse later. - Kirinhal in Durlag's Tower doesn't drop the hair item (i don't know if it's intended) - There is a lever in Durlag's Tower that keeps giving XP, it's in the level where Kiel's Helmet is located, the room with all the levers that open the doors - In the end of Durlag's Tower Durlag's ghost doesn't vanish after opening the last door before the Demon Knight
Soon i will complete the game, it was a great journey!
NWN2 save the states of the "module" in the save file.
With NWN2 anything related to a module is nevers updated unless you start again.
If you want to access the BGR update 1.4 you need to start again, or you will load a mismatch of the 2 versions since a lot of the old version is stored in your save game.
Hello, i would like to help by reporting few bugs:
- starting chapter 5 and rest doesn't give a second usage for "Divine Cure", i think it adds just the previous one again with one usage - Samuel and Lena are not present in their map, the Flaming Fist Mercenary mentions Samuel but they are just not there - Just entered Baldur's Gate and the first beggar doesn't get a gold coin but actually gives you one
Nothing particular, as you can see, just small issues, i repeat this is a majestic mod. Now not a bug but a question, what is the caster levels for crafting? Example, caster level for enchant weapon with +1 damage, caster level for +2 damage, etc. Thank you!
- sleeping people report stealing from containers to guards (maybe it's intended), cats seems to report as well! - it happened that after drinking at inn i've found a duplicate of weapon and shield in the inventory; items weren't duplicated, it was just like a second icon in inventory for both weapon and shield. Saving and reloading fixes the glitch
- 2949 instead of 2950, yeah sometime things are in troubles for almost nothing you are indeed reafected the same feat, instead of the correct one. - Samuel and Lena are on top of the cliff, not down, there is also a timer, if you leave the area without rescuing Samuel, you'll probably won't find him again - Damn those beggars are trully persistant !! This bug has been corrected many time and still find its way in a release build. - Thanks for the craft repport, no one beside me enchanted stuff among the testers, so not much feedback, I am glad you are using the crafting system. It's purelly based on the OC crafting system that I find really well done , I didn't remake it all,I only "completed it" with the book, and new recipes so as in the NWN2 OC, it's the same recipes as in the OC when the enchant exist in the OC. +1 = 3lvl, +2 = 6lvl +3=9lvl - Sleeping report, that won't be corrected, it's too much work, cat report : corrected. Also, if you are hidden while stealing you won't be reported(not a correction already in game).
- False icon flag, it's an NWN2 bug, reloading or changing area is usually enought to get rid of it.
Upload of the bug corrections : not now it's super minor, let's wait a little for more report and corrections.
All of this is supper easy to correct, it's 20 min of work for all of them together. The main problem is the "testing force" it's super hard to have everything tested even with helpers on something this big.
Hi! Today i tried this mod for the first time and i'm definitely loving it, i can feel the spirit of Baldur's Gate! Just one question, there is a point in levelling "social" skills as Diplomacy etc? I've arrived in Beregost and for now there was no skill check at all... Thank you and can't wait to see SOAR too!

After he's turned back to human, you can talk to him over and over and he'll continue to give you infinite XP.

Socials skill are used often, but it's not always "displayed", so you don't know about it. They are also used in SOAR.
in 1.4 there is a whole crafting system, so if you want to craft, crafting skills are really usefull.
