Figured I'd make a point of playing through this, especially since nobody else made any comments. Usually I hate this kind of thing, but Scavenger Hunt was amusing far beyond expectation. The module is extremely stable compared to most (no crashes at all, vs the dozens I usually get on modules this size). Nothing appeared to be broken, I managed to do everything I could find without issue. I did eventually get tired of running in circles like an idiot trying to walk over every piece of land in the game (hoping to hit treasure triggers) and threw on debug mode to find them all... there could be fewer false triggers laying around, but I suppose that's personal preference. I rather enjoyed all the little sound clips put into conversations and skill checks, and I didn't notice any major English errors besides the mutated goblin and maybe a typo or two (that in itself is exceedingly rare, people don't learn to read or write anymore). The arena matches were a nice touch... being an explorer and completionist, I hate being pushed into skipping content for time limits, and that mechanic allows you to stroll around at your leisure as long as you can keep beating your opponent (and don't stroll around for more than 20 hours in-game). I was particularly fond of how dangerous some of the enemies can be (blackguard skeletons and pit fiends and red dragons are awful with a solo character), and I was glad that there are skill checks and quest options that allow one to skip those fights if desired... some people play less combat-ready classes and forcing those fights would be *really* unfair to a solo bard or something.

The only thing I had trouble with was acquiring the Dire Badger Tooth. I swear I scoured that entire mine three times and never saw the thing. A merchant resolved the issue later on when it was the last item I needed... does your opponent finding the badger tooth first (she did it twice, actually) remove the badger from the mine?

Overall, a module well worth playing even if you normally hate scavenger hunts. Somehow the well-deserved endorsements seem to have missed this module, but I'll gladly put mine in the pile to make it a little bigger.

Thanks deusy! I'm glad you enjoyed it and thanks for the endorsement. I think I spent just as much time play testing it as I did making it before I put it up for download. The treasure triggers make play testing a little less tiresome. I never know what I'm going to find :-)

The Dire Badger should spawn inside the mine after you have a conversation with a certain NPC. There's also one that spawns in the Badlands but only after speaking to another certain NPC. There is one available from the "missing wizard" quest but only if you haven't found one yet and there's the one for sale by the vendor you found. Your opponent's standings, in the contest, won't change the location of any scavanger hunt items you need to find.

I'm going to check on the Dire Badger not appearing in the mines and see if I can duplicate that. It could be a bug.

      Thanks again!

If by "certain NPC" you mean the person near the mine who tells you directly that there's a badger in the mine (after asking him if he can help with your list of things to find), then I certainly triggered that. It's why I spent so much time crawling through every corner of the mine I could find. It's entirely possible I missed the one in the Badlands due to not talking to the proper NPC before going through that area because I found the wolf tracks early.

Speaking of the Badlands, I found it a bit odd that I could initially follow the wolf tracks to the Badlands, but could not revisit the area the same way and couldn't find a way back there by foot. I got called into an arena match after I'd cleared all of it except the wolf, and could only return by leaving the game world after finding another item on the list and telling the pixie to put me there directly. Perhaps that's intentional, or perhaps it's tied to the problem, but it might be worth mentioning. I spent a while thinking maybe I'd broken something in leaving too early

The person you need to talk to, for the Dire Badger to appear, is inside the mine. I'm going to try it a few times this weekend and see if the badger doesn't spawn. I had this problem in an earlier version but I moved the spawn point to another location and that seemed to fix it. It could be happening again.

Once you find the path to the Badlands from the Glenshire Woods you should be able to enter from there again at any time (even if you decide not to go into the badlands when you first discover the path). Clicking on the area just in front of the path will do it. There should be a map marker on the Glenshire Woods area map that shows where the path is. It's hard to see but there's also some "falling leaves" on either side of the path. This is something else I'll check for when I play through it this weekend.

The problem was probably me being overly simple-minded, then. I was trying to get back into the Badlands with the wolf-track trigger itself because I didn't see an area transition marker... figured it was one that could be triggered more than once or something of the sort. I must have somehow overlooked the transition itself repeatedly, if I was ever in the area where it should have been. I suppose it's a good thing to have my foolishness on display here so others don't think it's broken as well if they miss it

It's hard to spot with just the "falling leaves" visual effects on either side. I'll probably change that to something more noticeable. There's also a "shoreline" around the bridge to Sheffield village with the same visual effects. I'm thinking some people may have missed that, too.

    Hmm, sounds like fun.
