Kronica's Game - Scavenger Hunt General Information:


- This is a single player module designed to be played by a 1st level character.
- Characters with level adjustments were not play tested.
- You will advance to level 2 immediately and can expect to finish around level 12.
- The module should take about 10 hours to finish.


Kronica's Game - Scavenger Hunt v1.91 Changes and Fixes:

- Removed the armoire in the Sparking Anvil pub room. It was removing important items from the players inventory (Calling Gem & Scavenger Hunt List)
that were needed to complete the contest. These items could not be retrieved after they were taken.
- Removed the Calling Gem & Scavenger Hunt List from players inventory when they win or lose the contest.
- Fixed the discription of the Dragon's Scale.
- Fixed some spelling mistakes.


Kronica's Game - Scavenger Hunt v1.9 Changes and Fixes:

- Added a conversation option before fighting with Hannibex. Diplomacy, Intimidate or Bluff will reduce the number of enemies in the battle.
- Made the shoreline in the Outskirts of Sheffield; the Winter Wolf trail in the Badlands; and the trail to the Badlands more noticeable with visual effects.
- Removed some encounter triggers in the mine area that would cause other nearby creatures to attack when they shouldn't.
- Made a map marker for Fredrico after he is found.
- Removed the Giant Spider from the Goblin & Bandit cave (The Giant Glow Spider is still there).
- Removed the Guard Dog from the Goblin & Bandit cave.
- Increased chance to find buried treasure from 25% to 33%.
- Paying the Band Leader after a bad performance will increase Perform +5 for 10 minutes instead of 5 minutes.
- Refusing to pay the band leader after a bad performance will decrease Perform -5 for 10 minutes instead of 5 minutes.
- Reduced the Spot skill required to avoid Quesh's pick pocket attempt from 8 to 6.
- Removed equipped items from contest opponent that gave her too much damage reduction.
- Added a "Lucky Shovel" that can be purchased from an NPC. Increases chance to find buried treasure from 33% to %50.
- Reduced the number of items required to make Glowclaw Venom.
- Bards can now break into houses in Sheffield Village.
- Made Kyler's Calling Gem undroppable so it can't be lost or sold.
- Added some more dialogue with Fizel before the contest starts.
- Made the Witch Spectres less powerful.
- Lowered the amount of gold loot throughout the contest.
- Lowered Dilbert Jakes level from 8 to 7.
- Added three "switches" that will open nearby locked doors in the contest world.
- Added two more hidden treasures found by "listening-in" on NPC conversations.
- Made some creatures in the Badlands less powerful.
- Fixed a bug where Hannibex would not finish his dialogue if the scared goblin was killed.
- Made a couple of NPC's, besides Quesh, try to pick-pocket the PC.
- Added an option to avoid fighting Captain Jeffreys and still get the treasure he owes.
- Equipped Reb and Tully with missile weapons so they can fight back if attacked.
- Added another way to get a Charlaine Druid cloak.
- Slight name change of the module.


Scavenger Hunt v1.8 Changes and Fixes:

- Doors should now close automatically after a few seconds.
- Changed "Tavern" sign to "Twin Dolphins Tavern"
- Claudia's chest in the Beach House is now locked (key required) for rogue characters.
- Removed some shadows, skeleton warriors and skeletons from the abandoned mine area.
- Increased Ancient Witch Spectre's challenge rating.
- Crates in the arena will now unlock more than once.
- Fixed Xz's dialogue w/ he's waiting at his cave.
- Fixed the boulders on the cliff.
- Some creatures in the Badlands will be hidden until Dilbert joins the party.
- The Dire Badger in the mines will appear regardless of whether the player chooses to help Dylan or not.
- The Charlaine Druid amulet must now be equipped before the grave keeper will hand over the crypt key.
- Added loot to both stag beetles on Jasper Island.
- Fixed Fredrico's conversation if the player fails to talk him into paying more for their help.
- Fixed XZ the goblins misspelling of philosopher. He's smarter than that... or so we thought.
- Added some more sound effects inside the Jasper Island cave.
- Added a chance for the player to accept the Demon's deal before asking any questions.
- Made the guard dogs in the villagers houses less powerful.


Scavenger Hunt v1.7 Changes and Fixes:

- The scroll with the security card now remains unuseable (after the card is taken) when the player returns to the same area.
- Fixed a bug where the Interactive book in the contest facilities would give a reward for finding two companions when only one companion was found.
- Fixed a bug where Fizel would not finish his conversation with the player after they found an item in the starting area of the contest while XZ was a companion.
- Fixed a bug where Fizel would not recognize the player had won the contest at certain times.
- Renamed the "Island" area to "Jasper Island".
- Made the Rat Race a little flashier with two starting "circles", two racing "lanes", and a start & finish line.


Scavenger Hunt v1.6 Changes and Fixes:

- Raised the prices of scrolls at Gera's market stall in the contest facilities. Playtesting with a mage and some spells were WAY too cheap and powerful.
- Changed the Fire Beetles in the Goblin & Bandit cave to look like Bombardier Beetles and changed their names to Giant Beetles.
- Made some goblins & kobolds in the Goblin & Bandit cave stationary so they won't wander around and get stuck in walls.
- Fixed the "check current time" response at campfires.
- Made the wands, available as loot at the start of the module for certain classes, indentified.
- Removed many healing kits and healing potions throughout the module. Players should stock up at vendors before venturing forth!
- The "Kill Gunther" quest is now available to all characters, good or evil.
- Gunther will no longer flee the graveyard if he is in combat.
- Changed the name of the treasure dirt mounds to "conspicuous" looking mounds of dirt.
- Increased the survival DC for swimming across to Sheffield Village and travelling from the Glenshire Woods to Bonnie Bay.
- Fixed the travel bug from the Glenshire Woods to Bonnie Bay. It's now possible to encounter enemies.
- Raised the Rat Race entry fee from 15 to 25 gold.
- Added a Lost & Found chest in the Sparking Anvil Pub, in case the player forgets their equipment after renting a room.
- Player now gains full hit points, reset memorized spells and feats after levelling up.
- After winning an arena challenge, any re-entry fees are waived.
- Lowered the spot skill required to avoid Queshes pickpocket attempt from 11 to 9.
- Added one "Potion of Survival" as loot (+3 survival for five minutes) for certain classes.
- Destroying a Shadow with a lumicrystal's light now rewards 50xp.
- XZ is now available as a companion regardless of Quesh's pickpocket success & to rogue characters.
- Added 8 new creatures to the ambush area.
- Fixed the trigger around the strange man and Quesh to allow any polymorphed, invisible or wild shaped PC to pass without starting their conversations.
- "Cloak of the Magi" now gives a +2 Survival bonus.
- Added a Shambling Mound, a Treant and a Panther in the Glenshire Woods.
- Made the dire boar in front of the mines at full health again.
- Added two poisonous mushroom patches in the Glenshire Woods and made them do bad things when bashed or touched.
- Banda mushrooms now look more like mushrooms.


Scavenger Hunt v1.5 Changes and Fixes:

- Fixed the battle with Captain Collins. If the PC started a conversation with Cpt. Jeffreys during the battle, the Cpt. would leave without
helping. Only happened if the player started talking with him.
- Added medium & heavy armor to the vendor in the contest facilities when the player reaches level 7.
- Removed the dire boar, one dire wolf and both boars from the badlands.
- Added 50 xp bonus when a creature is injured from an exploding barrel.
- Added more explosive barrels inside the abandoned mine area & changed there name to "Explosive Barrel" in all areas.
- Added a "Cloak of the Magi" as loot (stolen & with class restrictions) in Craynis's house. Gives +5 to survival & spellcraft skills.
- Made the dire boar in front of the mines "injured" and easier to defeat.
- Added a 200 xp bonus for finding the hidden key in the grave yard, either through skills or from mousing over it. Same for Tully's hidden key.
- Lowered DC for convincing Craynis from 16 to 15.
- Added healing skill and healing kits to the opponent in the arena.


Scavenger Hunt v1.4 Changes and Fixes:

- Added charges to the Gladiator's Amulet so it won't be destroyed after one use.
- Removed the class restrictions from all items listed in the Advanced Weapons & Armour Crafting Book.
- Removed the class restriction from the Charlaine Druid Cloak and increased its concentration skill bonus from +3 to +5.
- Added +2 Skill bonus for Armor Crafting & Weapon Crafting to the Advanced Weapons & Armour Crafting Book.
- Increased friendly Dire Wolf's bite from 1d8 to 2d6.
- Increased Winter Wolf bite from 1d3 to 1d8 and claw from 1d3 to 1d6.
- Increased the value of the Winter Wolf's Pelt & Charlaine Druid Cloak.
- Made the gameplay easier if the player failed to talk Craynis into going home.
- Added healing kits to Dirks inventory and increased his healing skill.
- Killing a spectator will now change your alignment and the way certain NPC's react to you.
- Fixed the Glowing Treasure Chest. It now contains loot for players playing as one of the classes added in SoZ and MotB.
- Lowered the Mutated Earth Elemental's level from 16 to 13 and weapons from 2d10 slam to 2d6 slam.
- Increased the value of the Demon's Demon Blood +8000 gold.
- Fixed description on the advanced blacksmith's workbench, "skill must be eight or higher" instead of "ten or higher."
- Lowered the wisdom requirements for Rekim's test.
- Lowered damage the Silpax will do if PC failed to swim across.
- Lowered Dire Boar encounter trigger to just 1 creature and not 1-4.
- Lowered all of the wolf encounters to a maximum of 5 wolves.
- Lowered Lore skill requirement to read the markings on the gongs.


Scavenger Hunt v1.3 Changes and Fixes:


- Fixed a bug that would sometimes cause Dilbert Jakes character/script to revert to "hidden" after he teleported back to Sheffield village.
- Fixed some areas that where not defined as "non PVP" and allowed the PC to kill essential, plot related, NPC's.
- The players original inventory that was taken from them before the contest is now returned after the contest and stored in their locker.
- Added an award for winning at least three arena battles.
- Added a spot check trigger for Tully's storage room key.
- Removed the Mutated Earth Elemental's Huge/Greater Elemental properties. Lowered its strength from 24 to 16 and HP down to 100.
- The Mutated Fire Giant will now react properly when charmed. (Only applied to the game with expansions installed.)
- Reduced the pig carcass to 15 pounds.
- Fixed the prayer book so PC's with Besheba as a deity and a flail equipped will get their full bonus.
- Getting past the password protected door now awards xp.
- Removed some Kobolds.
- Lowered the listen & spot skills of most of the creatures to avoid too many of them noticing the player at once and ganging up on them.
- Removed some Skeletons.


Scavenger Hunt v1.2 Changes and Fixes:


- Fixed a bug that would create an empty treasure bag for certain classes after the player found buried treasure.
(Only applied to the game with expansions installed.)
- Lowered the perception range on creatures in the Goblin & Bandit cave and the Abandoned Mines areas.
After play testing with MotB and SoZ installed, these areas where too difficult due to too many
creatures attacking at once.
- Fixed Donny's OnConversation script to allow him to talk when charmed.
(Only applied to the game with expansions installed.)
- Leo's variety store and "young ladies" house are now NOT walk throughable (is that a word? don't think so)


Scavenger Hunt v1.1 Changes and Fixes:


- Increased xp scale from 5 to 10.
- Increased xp for Goblin Shaman Staff quest from 600 to 800.
- Increased xp for Dire Badger's Tooth quest from 1500 to 2000.
- Increased xp for Winter Wolf Pelt quest from 2500 to 3000.
- Increased xp for Dragon's Scale quest from 5000 to 6000.
- Advanced blacksmith's workbench now requires Craft Armor and Craft Weapon skill
of eight or higher not ten or higher.
- Reduced the selling price in all stores.
- Reduced the survival DC for travelling from Bonnie Bay to the Glenshire Woods.

Goblin & Bandit Cave:

- Added a Shield Ring as loot in the area.
- Lowered the hit points on some of Hannibex's minions.
- Reduced sleeping bandits strength to 13 from 16 and AC to 13 from 15.
- Sleeping Bandit now has fifty gold loot instead of just ten.
- The trap on the armoire behind Hannibex is now disarmable and recoverable.
- Saving Shandra now awards 300 xp instead of just 75.
- Getting the password from the mutated goblin now awards 300 xp instead of just 75.
- Disabling the security system now awards 300 xp instead of just 100.

Abandoned Mines:

- Skeleton Blackguard sound now stops after the cutscene.
- Skeleton Blackguard sound now uninterrupted during cutscene.
- Sunlight kills now give 300 xp instead of 500 xp.

Ambush Area:

- Saving and loading in this area will no longer spawn in another group of enemies.

Badlands:

- Muggles now stays in one spot.
- Attacking Kaylan no longer makes Rebb, Tully & the Priest angry.
- Removed "Walk Unseen" spell from the Warlock Bandit.
- Lizardfolk Chieftain's strength reduced to 17 from 20 and AC to 16 from 18.
- Warlock Bandit Leader's wisdom reduced to 11 from 16 and charisma to 20 from 24
- Warlock Bandit Leader's hit points reduced to 110 from 128.
- Added higher quality loot to some creatures and chests.

Dragon Scale Quest:

- Ghost Residue is no longer a base crafting item.

Outskirts of Sheffield:

- Fence around the "Test of Wisdom" is now indestructible.

Sheffield:

- Getting the Portrait of the Princess and going straight to the contest facilities
no longer causes the exit dialog in Tamara's house to give the options 1.Yes 2.Yes 3.No
but 1.Yes 2.No as it should be.

Rumours:

- Tully no longer tells of a Witch Spectre on the South Shore if the player has already killed it.

Awards:

- "Mocker of Death" is now awarded after ten deaths not nine.

South Shore:

(For non-rogue characters only)

- The werewolf will now spawn only after player gets their stolen gold from the chest in the beach house or if Quesh failed the pick pocket attempt
- Quesh will fail his pick pocket attempt if the player has a spot skill of 10+ instead of 11+.

South Shore Docks:

- Reduced the Fiendish Dire Rats AC to 20 from 23, increased its intelligence from 1 to 7 and reduced its wisdom to 4 from 12.
- Talking Donny into leaving now costs 100 instead of 300 gold and awards 100 xp, not 300.
- All left over pirates are destroyed after the main fight with Collins.
- Reduced the power of the trap on the chest in Craynis's room so it should no longer kill the player AND Dirk.
- Talking pirates out of a brawl with diplomacy now costs 100 gold instead of 200 gold.
- Added higher quality weapons to Sal's blacksmith shop.

Glenshire Woods:

- Added a Club +1 to Jello's store.
- Wallace will now talk to the player and offer them their reward for helping Craynis even if the player attracted enemies into Jello's tent.

Sheffield Outskirts:

- The ruins will always let you have your silver shard back now.

Kronica:

- Gera now upgrades her store merchandise when the player reaches level 6 instead of 7.
- Fixed counter in front of Nomm. Player can't run through it anymore. Nomm was concerned.
- Opponent will no longer find a contest item if the player is currently losing the game.

Arena:

- Reduced the strength of the opponent and removed some equipped items that were making her too powerful and hard to beat. Also, removed a lot of her potions.

Dirk:

- Reduced his total number of healing potions from 24 to 16.
- Joining him for the Pirate Captain's Medallion quest now awards 2000 xp intsead of 1000 xp.

Dire Wolf Companion:

- Increased its intelligence, wisdom and charisma from 9 to 10.
