This mod was created for those that think Easy is too easy, Medium is too hard, and Hard needs less rubber banding.

==== Important Vanilla Notes ==============================
These Vanilla notes apply to this mod as well. If you did not know "Vanilla" means unmodded.

The AI performs A LOT better if you are not in the top three positions 30 seconds into a race.

The AI becomes worse at driving when there is no player within 200 yards (This mod ups it to 400).

All AI Racers have their own custom car, because of this some specific AI Racers will be noticeably faster or slower than others.

The AI can be very inconsistent. Sometimes something such as hitting another vehicle will throw off the AI for the rest of the race.

The AI reverts to Vanilla Easy if there is no player within 400 yards for a few seconds. This happens regardless of mods used and difficulty chosen.

The offset and pacing skill of AI Racers on Easy difficulty is now higher.
The offset and pacing skill of AI Racers on Medium difficulty is now slightly lower.
The offset and pacing skill of AI Racers on Hard difficulty is now lower and removed OP NOS.
Offset and pacing consist of the AI Racer's max speed and skill when taking curves.

Increased the human detection radius of the AI Racers from 200 yards to 400 yards.
The AI begins driving worse when no human is within its detection radius.
This change will help prevent that a little longer.

A frequent complaint for NFSH is that Easy is too easy and Medium is too hard.
This mod was made to help bridge the gap between the three difficulties a little more.
This mod removes the OP NOS that AI Racers have in Hard mode.
This mod DOES NOT remove AI rubber banding, but it does help slow it down (on Hard mode).

Make sure this mod is lower on the Frosty Mod Manager list so it takes priority over other mods that effect Racers.

Will I get banned for using these mods Online?
Highly unlikely as the game's last update occurred on 2020 (minus the server update on 2023) and no one has ever reported being banned for using mods online since then.

How are Racers balanced Online with others not using this mod?
Whomever owns the Racer is responsible for its stats. It begins with whomever is the host of the race. The AI Racer becomes un-owned when no player is within 400 yards. I do not know if ownership can be changed or what happens to the AI Racer's stats when acquiring a new owner.

I am new to this game. Can this game be played in Co-op?
Yes, and I believe at this time in early 2025 it is the best Co-op racing game with RPG style progression. Do note that the game does not allow you to play through the Story missions in Co-op, HOWEVER Story missions will likely take up less than 20% of your playtime. Most of your playtime will be spent doing races and escaping the cops (to level up and get cash for upgrades) which can be done in Co-op.

What should I do if I plan on playing through this game on Co-op?
It is not required, but I highly I recommend you and your co-op friends choose the same difficulty and use the exact same mods in the same load order for the best experience.

My game crashes when I try to play Online?
Try removing all other mods and see if it works online. If it does then either one of your other mods does not work online or there is an incompatibility issue between the mods.

Just wondering does the game give any rewards and achievements for playing on a harder difficulty settings?
Nope so just play on the difficulty setting you find most enjoyable.

How does Balanced Medium feel like?
If you usually won 50% of your races in first place on Vanilla Medium then you may be able to win 70% of your races in first place on Balanced Medium.

My car's performance rating is (ex: 200) and I am doing a race of the same performance level on Balanced Medium and I think you didn't lower the difficulty of Medium enough on the Balanced difficulty version of the mod!
The performance rating is just a guide line on how good your car should be on a race. Remember the performance rating between 2 cars can be vastly different. For example a Chevrolet Bel Air at 200 rating and a Mazda Miata at 200 rating can perform very differently from one another. The Bel Air may need to be at 240 rating to compare to the Miata. If Balanced Medium is still too difficult then try Plus Easy.

I am playing the game on Easy difficulty using this mod, but I am still finishing races over a mile ahead of everyone else!
The AI reverts to Vanilla Easy if there is no player within 400 yards for a few seconds. This happens regardless of mods used and difficulty chosen. If you manage to be over 400 yards ahead of an AI Racer then you can consider that AI Racer to have effectively given up on the race. I like to think of it as if I made the AI Alt+F4 Rage Quit. Also the AI performs a lot better if you are not in the top three positions in the first 30 seconds of a race.

Do I need to use all mod files?
No only use ONE of the two options.

Which version of the mod do you recommend?
I recommend trying the Balanced version of the mod first. If you think Easy was still too easy or Hard was still too Hard then try the Plus version. 
Don't base your test around just one race, do two or three different races as difficulty between races of the same rating can vary wildly.

If I wanted a difficulty between Easy and Medium which do you recommend playing at?
I recommend trying the Easy difficulty on the Balanced version first.
However I feel that Easy on the Plus version is what most people are looking for.

Does the mod order matter?
Yes make sure this mod has higher priority than the other mods (lower on the list on Frosty Mod Manager).
