What started out as a personal mini-mod to replace the Noble Troop upgrade path of T4 Biantids with a Mercenary Unit quickly grew into two separate mods. The first was Bandits Are Not Noble which I released last weeks, and now comes the second part, Expanded Mercenaries. Thanks to a new feature added in 1.7 its now possible for each culture to have it's own Mercenary unit tree which are recruited from Taverns. 

Vlandia have Western Mercenaries, who specialise in Heavy Spear Infantry, Hedge Knights and Bill armed Crossbowmen
Battania have Highland Mercenaries, skilled archers of non-highborn birth who previously served as militia archers before becoming soldiers for hire
Sturgia have Nord Mercenaries, predominantly axe wilding heavy and shock infantry, though some fight as Trapper and Rangers with bow, axe and spear.
Aserai have Bedouin Mercenaries, specialised skirmishers who fight as spearmen, archers and medium cavalry.
khuzait have Steppe Mercenaries, medium to heavy cavalry armed with lance and bow.

The Watchman and Mercenary Guard have also been given an equipment upgrade to make them more useful. 

IMPORTAINT NOTES! 
This mod is for 1.7+ only and will not work on pervious versions.
Its a good idea to start a new game. (New Mercenaries will take a while to spawn otherwise)
As this mod adds new units it cannot be removed without causing the game to crash.

INSTALLATON 
To install, unzip and place the ExpandedMercenaries folder into your modules folder where you place all other mods.
This mod will work with Bandits Are Not Noble, make sure you load it before Expanded Mercenaries.
I've also included a Mercenary Bandit add-on which contains an extra file to allow bandits to upgrade to mercenaries instead of regular troops, instructions included. Mercenary Bandit add-on will effectively overwrite the changes made in Bandits Are Not Noble so no need to use Bandits Are Not Noble if you intend to using the Mercenary Bandit add-on file.

My new Looters Plus mod has been released which adds more looter, bandits and, thanks to the Custom Spawns API, more bandit party types.

If you are wondering, the recruit minor faction troops in the tavern menu is from the mod Fourberie
