Excellent mod! All the basic features of the old DCC mod without the half dozen other pointless dependent mods it now requires. Works perfectly out of the box (with the 1.5.6 beta no less) with no intricate load order juggling or other voodoo required.

Appreciate your effort but there is already a mod doing same which belongs to me; Enable FaceGen (Body) Sliders

I see you didn't add anything new except the exception catch but it is not necessary for such a simple thing. So, I really wonder why you needed to create a duplicate mod.

Also your mod has problems, it is not a good idea to include all references in your mod and you don't need to override OnGameLoaded, probably these issues are why your mod is causing problems and mine is not causing any so far.

Tip: In visual studio click your references (except Harmony) and set "Copy Local" as "False". This way other DLLs will not be there when you build. (Do not forget to remove old DLLs before building.)

My code is open to all on GitHub and released in public domain. Feel free to add something on it and release as it is yours.

I got such a post from DCC modder about this post of mine.

      Hello.

Sorry for the late reply, I haven't looked at this mod of mine for quite a while, and I haven't been paying attention to the modding forum at all. I wish to assure you that I refuse to hide this sort of thing as a matter of principle. If people think there's something wrong with the mod (including conceptually or IP-wise), it would not be good of me to pretend their objections do not exist or have no merit by default.

I agree, there's some stuff wrong with the mod, and the advent of 1.5.x kinda messed it up (though it's probably super easy to re-add the binding for 'V' making the FaceGen screen pop up). The references were a pain in the butt, and I thank you for the tip to use with Visual Studio. In a build I have on my computer but haven't released, I removed that OnGameLoaded override, since it was unnecessary as you said. I'm not sure it caused any problems by itself (since I never had problems with it, so I can't say whether it does or not), but you probably know more than I do about it.

It seems like there are some problems regarding feature overlap with your mod, my mod, and Travis' DCC 1.0.0, in that they all do the exact same thing (at least, at first or at their core). There are comments on this page about how I didn't want to make this a copy of DCC, so I refused to implement features like being able to change the appearance of others lords (assuming for a moment that I would've gotten it to work). In the past few weeks, I was working on a new version that would've made this mod significantly different from both your mod and DCC. You should be able to see the roadmap (which hasn't been trodden too much recently, I freely admit) on my description page. It describes how I wanted to fix the skill-based / attribute-based dynamic weight and build changes in the base game. I haven't been able to get it to work, even with Harmony patches, and I got distracted by life stuff.

I don't want to get into a fight about modding games because that's no fun, and ostensibly we're all trying to have fun in our own ways, so if you feel that the overlap at this time is too much, I can take this mod down and put it back up if and when the features end up being divergent from both your mods' and DCC's feature-sets. I might just do it anyways because there's too much like it on the mod pages already, and I'm not that emotionally invested into it to begin with.

I was forced to start a new game after updating to 1.5 - literally everyone over 40 died. Tried one mod and frankly its not very aesthetic. Tried the DCC but its borked. This worked out of the box. Simple but effective sliders which got rid of the dad bod tummy. The only issue is that I de-aged my character to what I thought was about 18-20. Just one tick below where he gets hairy and that doesnt seem to hold. Reverts to the hairy "adult bod". But its still better than vanilla. So just wanted to say it seems fairly 1.5 compatible. Great job!

Tried to keep it simple for this first pass, which probably accounts for its robustness to the tides of the game's official development. All my first version does is flip one boolean flag, the name and effect of which they didn't change between 1.4.x and 1.5.0.
However, I'll be adding some new features in the soonish future (which you can see on the roadmap), which necessitates being dependent on more of TaleWorlds' code, which absolutely will change as Early Access progresses. If they change the function signatures or change the way something works, or even change the name of a behavior I remove and replace, then this mod will probably not work. Point is, the chance of my mod being compatible from version to version decreases as my mod's complexity and amount of features increases. Nothing much I can really do about that, since that's just the nature of the beast.
None of this is to say I won't keep up between versions, because I play with my mod activated myself. It's a cunning way to make sure I fix things if my mod stops working, since I'll have the same frustrations as my users.

Yeah, that bug's a tricky one. I don't know enough about how the FaceGen menu works to do anything about it, and I'd prefer to work on my new features, which I do know how to do. However, TaleWorlds has recently shown us their model editor/viewer tools in their Modding Tools video, so I'm quite sure that somebody (probably not me) will whip up a nice, hairless body type for people who don't like having gratuitous amounts of body hair on their characters, once the tools get released. You might have to wait a bit for that, though.

FWIW - I just had my "brother" (seriously my mom is obviously a tramp since my bother and sister are blonde haired and blue eyed) turn 18 and join the party. He has the the bod I was trying for so there is no "technical" reason you cant have the bod/face. I think its an issue with the code seeing I am 33 and that body not being allowed for that age group and the engine "fixing it". DCC had a slider where you could edit the age ranges and I think that is the likely reason.

One thing that just bugs me is having a flat butt regardless of body type. If any slider effects that having it would be great. Another mod had it as an option but it wasnt well done and way over morphed so rather than having a nice gluts it made everyone super thicc

Something I just noticed playing a different character. When the character is the 18-21 level, the hair and other options arent applied. Im sturgian so as a "man" I have tattoos and a certain hairstyle. Drop it down to under 21 and its a generic hairstyle and no tats. So I am guessing that not all options are available to young men which may be part of the issue as to why you cant be younger

This mod works great with the latest stable version e1.4.3. Detailed Character Creation mod crashes with this version. The only thing I miss is the ability to edit NPC images. Would you consider adding that feature?

Probably way later, after I'm finished with other features that I want to work on first.

Thank you. Would you consider taking another look at DCC and making a mod that brings back the ability to edit the appearance of other characters mid-game as well as renaming them?

It seems that by mentioning DCC in my mod description, I've unwittingly taken on its mantle -- and this is to be expected, since I talked at length about how I was peeved at missing some of its features.

However, I also must consider the features I want to do to make this mod not JUST another DCC, since the prospect of being a copy of DCC offends my honor as a burgeoning modder. I'll change the description to better detail my roadmap for this mod, which will probably include your suggestion.

Sorry my comment wasn't meant to accuse you of anything. Much like you, I too miss many of those features. Do feel free to add as many features as you see fit :)
      Looking forward to future updates!

Please don't think your mod is just another DCC mod. DCC doesn't work. Yours does.

All of the past games had that option. It was just convoluted. Like you had to scroll thru every character after clicking 50 screens. Anyway, my point is that I wouldnt be surprised if its a vanilla feature in the release version.

    Hello! Neat idea!

Before donwload, a simple question: This mod cause problems with clipping armors? Like... making your character fatty, will make some armors to horrible clip?

    Thank you! :D

Not that I've seen. I haven't sat down and seriously fiddled with the weight / build values with lots of combinations of armor and such, but just from playing the game, I haven't seen much clipping aside from certain female civilian dresses on NPCs.

This game's actually really good about scaling the armor to the body bones, which is definitely no small task as far as modeling's concerned.

If you do see any horrifying instances of clipping armors, then in theory it should be reversible by just changing back the sliders during your campaign.

I was blaming another mod for that. The devs keep tweaking the armors and clothes and I think its really a vanilla issue. On a fresh install w/ no mods lots of characters have overly large armor

I am not sure if someone has suggested this before, and from what I can see, it looks to be a great mod, but I think you should add an option for those that make female characters to be able to adjust the breast size as well, otherwise it'll just be flat-chests no matter where you go.

Wow, of course someone manages to unlock these sliders again as I stop playing Bannerlord:-) You are a champ, nice job friend.
