So. I wanted to offer a work around for the below deck black screen issue. I run a multi Mark mod, when opening a recall menu or using a teleport spell, it will fix the load in issue and make the cell appear.

Good to know. I used to run a multi-mark mod but found it to make things too trivial and really only felt right for a dedicated wizard type character that I could see making a breakthrough in expanding the normal mark spell.

What's nice about the solution of sleeping in the nearby hammock is that its available to anyone, and not just people using that mod, even characters who don't use teleportation spells.

I had similar issues with Vaelta's version. The key is to always leave the ship by it's doors (the double load must happen). Getting in by a ring or mark inside a cell of the ship is OK.

Oh, man, I didn't realize Vaelta deleted their mods. Distant Horizons, The Buoyant Armigers, The Abidi Pipe Emporium - all excellent mods. =(

i found links to some of Vaelta's mods that have been archived.. i was watching all the MMS shows about them and they looked amazing so i went digging and sure enough you can get at some of it through wayback machine.
ehh im not sure if this is cool to post the links here? apologies, i dont want to offend anyone. its every artists right to control their work (ironic maybe but there it is..) i dont want to ruffle feathers further but it seems a shame to waste such talent...

      It sucks when it happens.

Will be great if this is actively maintained.

One comment is that last time I looked at a previous version it could have done with a BCOM patch if that were possible. I am sure the rowboat part of the mod was stuck in the extended pier that BCOM introduces in Ebonheart.

A good idea and sounds feasible. I'll pass it along. In the meantime for anyone experiencing this issue I recommend either purchasing the boat/ship at one of the alternative locations (Narsis/Anvil) or simply using TCL to retrieve the boat from the pier.

Patch uploaded as optional file. Will be incorporated as part of the main file in the future if there is cause for a more substantial update.

Thanks for the quick response. Got an issue though. I have the esps from the "00 Core.." and "01 Cyrodiil...." directories loaded as well as the BCOM patch. I have just created a new character to test it and travelled to both the Ebonheart EEC Office and then to the Anvil Shipworks and there are no merchants in either place. Could I be missing something?

That's odd, I'll talk to Suffers about it. I just checked on my game where I'm running Core and Cyrodiil, the Ebonheart merchant is not where he usually is and I can't find him, but the Anvil merchant is there in his normal spot. The Anvil merchant can be easy to miss he's in the upstairs offices of the shipworks building. The Narsis Merchant is also in his normal spot at the Shipbuilder and Sailor's hall. I'll reply again with more info when I have it but let me know if you can find the Narsis and Anvil merchants.

EDIT: According to Suffer everything is working as intended on his end and in the CS. Did you have the previous version installed in your modlist beforehand or is this your first time using it? We're theorizing that the missing Ebonheart guy might be caused by updating from the previous version since that's what I did and I'm also missing him.

it is working fine for me on a new character, could you tell me if you are running the OE merchant addon? or if any of your mods conflict with stormrider or the bcom patch

I had removed my other version of this mod before installing this one and creating a new character. I also don't have the OE merchant add-on. I've also just checked Anvil again and the Merchant is not there (i.e. upstairs). Not been to Narsis yet.

I will play around it with a bit more. For the record I run OpenMW and I install mods manually so maybe there is something in my load order causing this. I have this fairly well down the order and after all the major stuff so I thought it would be ok. I will get back to you if I suss it out. Thanks.

Between replacing the old mod and running OpenMW I suspect we have the answer. While this mod is technically compatible with OpenMW it isn't designed for it. If you're running OpenMW there is another version of Stormrider that is meant for it. https://www.nexusmods.com/morrowind/mods/55408

So I found my Ebonheart Merchant, Corrudus Oleinius. Somehow he ended up in some nebulous space that exists outside the door of the Captains Cabin in the same cell. I happened to catch a glimpse of him while jumping in the cabin and then TCL'd through the wall to find him.

I do not know how he got there, but I did learn how to put him where he belongs, and it should work even if your Corrudus is in some other location.

Make a hard save first then type this exact command into the console: KS_SR_Ship_Merchant00000001->PositionCell, 1234, 544, 2, 0, "Ebonheart, East Empire Company Hall"

I tried the expanded (multiple ships) version for OpenMW and I can now see and talk to the merchant in Ebonheart fine. Thanks for the suggestion.

Trouble is I've forgotten how the control system works exactly (I can move the ship but have forgotten how to move around a ship once you've boarded) so I requested in the comments there and would suggest here that you provide some explicit documentation on the control system.

      Cheers

I thought the controls were in the old Readme file but I guess not. Once you're sailing you crouch to activate the ship menu which gives you options for fast travel, reverse, anchor, repair, launching the boat, and free mode. Free mode is what allows you to move around the deck while the ship is sailing but be careful with it since you can't control the ship then. When you're sailing the boat get close to the ship and activate it to dock it to the ship.

WHAT?? Man Vaelta's mods were superb, I will especially miss the Quey Flotilla mod. Is there any chance you could get permission for the rest? It's a huge loss for this already niche community if we just start deleting mods left and right like this

In my case, for the rest of his mods the issue isn't getting permission, I'm sure he'd give it to me, I just don't have the mod files. Stormrider Expanded Lands was the only one of his Mods I was using so its the only one I have the files for. If anyone else reading this has the files for his other mods I encourage them to DM him and get permission to reup them.

Yeah, it's very sad. Distant Horizon and esp. Imperial Bank were really really great mods. I have them still partly installed, but can't easily identifiy which textures and meshes really belong to what. Also I did not install optional plugins.

Has he given any actual reasoning as to why he deleted them? There's so many officially unsupported mods out there that can just exist in peace, if you retire from modding you can just add an "unsupported" disclaimer and open your permissions (I know I'm acting like it's the burning of the library of Alexandria, but this stuff really irks me)

For the reasons, I think if he wants to share them in public, he can do it (but if he doesn't I respect that.)

Yeah, I can understand that feeling, it's also a social thing. I was just playing Imperial Bank for the last about 5 days now, 16 hours in total (!) this is DLC length. And I was writing in the comments section, partly for some feedback, partly for simply sharing my enjoyment. And then suddently it was gone - not just the mod itself, but the social context of sharing the fun. But again, one should respect such decisions. Modding should be a hobby, and modding can be a personal thing as well, so ...

While I respect the original authors decisions .... this sucks for someone like me that was just trying out Stormrider, Imperial Banking, and the Distant mods for the very first time.  I didn't make a pdf of the mod page or archive the site so that I can go back and read what was on the description pages for any of them last week when installing them.

IIRC the readme files in the downloaded archives are the same as was the text of the descriptions.

In short, Vaelta is gone a few days after he had a meltdown at a prominent member of Tamriel Rebuilt, after publishing to Nexus unfinished landmass files that he didn't receive permission for. He was told first privately that he didn't have permission, so after publishing it anyway, he was told in the nexus comments that he didn't have permission by said TR member AND the official TR Nexus account. He proceeded to insult the developer's character and argue with the team account and post an out-of-context screenshot, seemingly permitting him to post it. The mod was taken down by Nexus staff after several reports, which you can see if you have the URL as it says explicitly that it was removed by staff.

Eyes were starting to be drawn to other mods he had posted that had questionable permission for their existence, such as his Buying Game update never receiving permission for its existence. He only credited the original creator, even though the original mod's page explicitly states that you need permission for things like publishing modifications. A few days later, he deleted everything.

Proof of the hostile exchange with TR, as well as a bonus exchange on his Stormrider page where he's immensely rude to someone a bit confused about how to buy the ship:

Ohh I saw that initial exchange but didn't think it would end up like this, thanks for connecting the dots for me, and yeah that's some pretty nasty behavior (though to be expected from someone who'd have this kind of burn-it-all meltdown lol)

No idea I'm afraid, just don't tick that box when installing it since that's optional anyway.

I did a manual install. I'll see if there's anything in the readme. Wait I think I see where I went wrong. There are 2 ESPs in the file and I got the mixed up in installation.

Sounds like you sorted it, good.

Btw, for you and anyone else who happens to check the posts here, I've been contacted by someone who actually knows how to do mods and we are planning some stuff for Stormrider.

Sad to hear, a huge loss for the community. I still have some of his mods, like the latest version of the Imperial Bank.
If anyone can contact him, ask for permission, I'd like to post the mod before I lose the archive.
I have a build of 300 mods, there are probably more of his works there. You can write the names, I'll take a look.

I think to avoid confusion, maybe name this version of the mod not "MWSE" but "original Morrowind".
