Big Update:

Ahoy fellow Stormrider fans! User SuffersParadise contacted me to work on Stormrider, he did all the hard work and I just provided some feedback. The result is this new version 3.1 (don't ask about version 2)

New BAIN structure:
The Install structure has changed. Previous BAIN system included the Core File and a version compatible with Imperial Banking, which is now unavailable. The new version has a Core file for Tamriel Rebuilt, but Telvanni Sea Beacons has been separated to its own optional folder. There are two Add-Ons, one that makes the Core compatible with Project Cyrodiil, the other moves the original merchant from Ebonheart to Old Ebonheart. Due to irreconcilable conflicts these Add-Ons are not compatible with eachother, so if you want Project Cyrodiil compatibility and the merchant swapped to Old Ebonheart you're out of luck. Also now included is an alternative core file that is not dependent on Tamriel Rebuilt. This Vanilla Core is intended for people who want to play Stormrider with just base game Morrowind, it is not intended to be compatible with either of the Add-Ons. Telvanni Sea Beacons is now its own option, it has always been a separate esp from the core but previously they were in the same BAIN folder, they have been separated for ease of troubleshooting. For reference my personal set up is Core TR+Cyrodiil+Telvanni Sea Beacons.

New Features:
The new Core includes new merchants just for repair tools in Old Ebonheart, Hla Oek, and Firewatch. It also adds a new Fast Travel point to Lake Coronati down by Narsis, some of the other Fast Travel points have been tweaked. In the Cyrodiil Add-On the fast travel has been renamed from Stirk to Abecean Shores and moved closer to the Lighthouse.

Aside from that, the interior has received an overdue touch-up. Old table and chair in the Captain's Cabin has been replaced with a nice Desk and no useless chair to get in the way. The shelf and small chest on the back wall has been refined to a nicer model. The shelves on the side are slightly bigger and have their own small chest. The bed is fancier, and a sitting cushion has been added in the corner.

Below deck there are some new cushions by one of the tables. The galley kitchen has been given a table with a more even surface, but the useless cauldron remains and I still recommend disabling it and replacing it with a Stove if you're running Ashfall. If you're not running Ashfall (you should be) then it's just decoration.

On the Lowest Deck some of the barrels and crates have been moved, and a new container has been added in the form of 5 barrels stacked together near the three crates on the right side.

Updating from an Old Save:
Due to the new file structure it is now possible to update Stormrider over an existing install. There are two ways to go about doing this.

The easiest is to simply overwrite the old mod, you may need to change the name on install to match your existing mod name so MO2 overwrites them. If you go this route you will lose everything stored in containers on the ship, because you're essentially replacing them with new containers. Therefore you should first go and empty all of the containers before updating the mod. I did this myself with the help of a lot of Sujamma to carry all of the loot I'd stored away.

The other method is to install both the old mod and the new mod together, with the new mod loaded after. This will preserve your contained items, but leave you with a lot of work as you go around manually deleting overlapping furniture and containers. The only real reason to go this route is if you prefer the old table to the new desk, or you want to mix and match new furniture and old furniture. I definitely recommend going with the other option.

All of that said, your mileage may vary and it is still ideal to install this new version on a fresh save, or a save where you have not previously purchased Stormrider.

We hope you enjoy the new updates, the old file will be archived here and remain available if you prefer it. Please let me know via the posts or bug reports if you run into any issues with this new version.

Future Plans: There are still some features we want to implement in the future. The top of that list is the option to move the sailing postion to the command deck above the captains cabin. Not only is this something I have personally always wanted for Stormrider, it would also solve the known issue that effects Bosmers at the current sailing position. Other than that the addition of new ships is being explored. No promises are being made about either of these features, but if you read this and think you can make either happen, or you want to help work on Stormrider feel free to reach out.

OLD TEXT

The old Expanded Lands version of Stormrider has been deleted because the uploader decided to retire from Modding and removed all of his mods from Nexus for personal reasons. He has given me permission to reupload this MWSE compatible version of Stormrider Expanded Lands so it can be preserved. There will be no further updates because I do not know how to implement them.

While I am calling it the MWSE version to differentiate it from the new OpenMW only version, it does not actually require MWSE, and it is OpenMW compatible.

You can buy Stormrider at the EEC office in Ebonheart, the Shipbuilders in Anvil, or the Shipwrights and Sailors guild in Narsis. This is the original Expanded Lands MWSE version so there's only one boat and one ship model. You can also buy repair tools from any of the guys who sell the vessels.

Some tips from a long time Stormrider sailor:
1. If the ship disappears while sailing, turn around and go back the way you came until it reappears. This happens very occasionally on cell transition and is easily fixed by going back and reloading the cell.

2. If you are running Merlord's Ashfall mod (and you should be) I highly recommend using the console to disable the useless decorative cauldron below deck in the bow and replacing it with a stove so you can have a functional galley kitchen.

3. The Stormrider ring found in the cabin was originally intended to be an emergency troubleshooting measure, but you can totally use it like permanent recall to the ship. This allows you to mark where ever you are out on your adventures, return to the ship via the ring to drop off loot, rest, or whatever, and then recall back to your adventure.

4. If you're having trouble navigating somewhere, just toggle clipping while sailing and the ship will noclip through whatever obstacles are in your way.

5. Sometimes on Fast Travel to Stirk the ship spawns in with the model all messed up, to fix this just start sailing to trigger a cell transition.

6. There is a known issue that only effects Bosmers. When sailing Stormrider as a Bosmer your character shakes up and down on the hatch to the lower decks. The solution is either deal with it or not play as a Bosmer. If you are committed to sailing as a Bosmer, doing so in third person makes this more bearable.

7. On a few occasions I have experienced an issue where going below deck causes the game to load with a black screen. If this happens to you, do not try and go back above deck, instead use the minimap to navigate and aim for one of the hammocks to the left and rest in it for any length of time, this will fix whatever happened and restore your vision. I am not sure this is an issue with Stormrider or with one of the other mods in my modlist, but it's only ever happened on Stormrider.
