About this mod
A HUGE mod for Starwind that adds about ONE HUNDRED new quests for Taris and Tatooine, and overhauls character creation and the main quest.

Like many new Starwind players, I blew through all the content the game had to offer in one long, intense burst of gameplay. The relaxed, joyous atmosphere of the game combined with the satisfying gameplay loop of doing and finding quests makes it just a pleasure. But eventually, the game runs out of content. All too soon, Starwind becomes just another game that you've "beaten". You've seen it all, and it's time for the next thing.
The goal of Starwind: The Next Generation (SWNG) is to fix this. Obviously, just making more content wouldn't solve the problem; Starwind is already a very long game, and people can play content faster than anyone can make it. The resolution offered by SWNG is to make the game different on different playthroughs by adding more options that the player can combine for different experiences.
The options include:
Starting on any planet you want

Each planet you can start on has its own sequences in which you unlock the other planets, and depending whether you start with the ship, many planets have two sequences of unlocks.
Note also that modders can easily add special scenarios to start the game in!
Challenge Modes

Again, modders can easily expand this inventory of challenge modes. In the future, I plan to add a speedrunning feature that will make these modes much more interesting.
Choosing your faction
Unlike vanilla SW, the Hutts are now mutually exclusive to the Republic and Sith, and have two new questlines in addition to the Nar Shaddaa questline. The Republic and Sith have each received a new questline as well, for a total of 5 new questlines for these factions. In the future, the Selkath and Mandalorians may also be new, exclusive factions.
Choosing your build
While it's true that you could always build your character freely in Starwind, there were a few limiting factors that made it not very fun to experiment with different builds:
- The starting sequence was very long and tedious. (The Gezeki monologue especially.)
- You only started with certain items, so different builds would start with better or worse gear. In SWNG, there's a shop in the character generation, and you start with 500 credits to kit yourself out. (If you don't like this, there's a challenge mode that removes your starting money.)
- Different ways of unlocking the ship are tailored to different builds, so your path through the galaxy is directly affected by your choice of build.
The Content
Aside from the new character creation options, this mod adds an insane amount of content. Even with cheats, this mod takes a very long time to complete. The basic shape of the additions are that every planet has at least one or two new things, Sandriver finally has a real "plot" that makes sense, and Taris is now a "full" planet with extensive quest content and a brand-new Sith questline to rival the vanilla main quest.
SW: NG adds the following to Starwind, the Total Conversion for Morrowind:
- 61 new quests to Taris, including a new beach area
- 25+ new quests for Tatooine (lost count)
- A full-length Sith questline for Taris
- A Hutt questline for Taris
- A Hutt questline for Tatooine
- A Republic questline for Tatooine
- A Zillows questline
- Fleshes out the Czerka quests on Tatooine
- A Hunter's Lodge on Kashyyyk
- Miscellaneous quests and new interactions spread all across the galaxy.
