Loved the story, everything fit into the game well. Unique reward and mechanics were nice. I also liked the subtle way it slotted in alongside the main quest. Worked perfectly on .49 once I replaced the .esp with the 1.0 version - otherwise the song mechanics would not work.
Just completed this fantastic quest mod, what a brilliant job you did with the story telling! The "final boss" was incredibly frustrating , but persevering was worth it to get the good ending. I can't wait to play the rest of your work now! :)
Near the end of the mod finally and I noticed Im not the only one with this issue. Bladesong isn't working. Crouching and attacking doesn't do aanything.i have the latest version of the mod with the openmw script activated. I also have 0.49 dev build from January of this year. Do have any theories on what might be causing this? Will I miss out on anything if I need to revert to an older version? I will say it's been a pretty god mod not since demon of knowledge have I had this much fun. Granted I usually never get the chance to play most quest mods I download, but I wanna make this apart of my playthrough now.
It's frustrating that I keep running into this issue with the OpenMW version. I can only think that it's some kind of mod conflict since it worked when I ran it on my install, and I worry that it's some kind of problem with the lua code, which I had to get people to help me with. I would say you could try using the 1.0 version, but start it on a save before you entered Kelhiann. Just be ready to revert saves if it doesn't go well.
Also you might have to tcl through some invisible walls if you're not using Jammings Off.
Looks like you've already figured this out since you've started the second story, but he's on the road outside of the tomb. And just a note since it looks like you're using this mod and Blademeister: don't leave Felthorn in any of the stories. Make sure it's in your inventory, or else you might lose it in the story.
This has got to be one of the best-written quest mods so far! Perfect timing with the reveals, great dialog, and fun mechanics. Can't wait to see what other mods you come up with in the future!
Hmm okay what OpenMW version are you running? The script won't work unless you're on 0.49+.
Otherwise, are you doing the process correctly? You equip the songstone onto your character, you say Yes when it asks you to activate Bladesong, you enter sneak position and strike while sneaking. That should make the first song cue play. Is that where the issue is?
If you're still having trouble, this might be relevant to your issue.
0.49 is the current development build. The functionality that I needed was just implemented in this newest build.
Try the version in the "Development Builds" section. https://openmw.org/downloads/
If you can't use that for whatever reason, you can still use version 1.0 on any OpenMW build, but you won't have sound overhaul compatibility, and you might run into invisible walls. The mod Jammings Off might prevent the invisible wall issues. Otherwise, you can use the tcl command to get through them.
I'm really not sure then. I guess just reload a save before you started the final story and ignore it. The next thing to do would be to try version 1.0, but I don't recommend that on your current save since you've already loaded most of the scripts.
Excellent story-telling! sadly I wasn't able to save her. I fought her third iteration, but got her health to low and worried about killing her, switched to hand-to-hand and went thru a few of the songstone cycles but nothing happened, switched back to weapon and unfortunately finished her off; but the ending still felt like a valid conclusion.
on a side note my added explore tracks played as soon as the battle music stopped, the elf song tavern song played, then the lament from Conan the Barbarian as I left the grotto, almost made me cry....but real Nerevarines don't cry, not even after destroying a giant killer death robot and seeing the death of your former best friend....<sniffle>, <sniffle>...not even then....
Just trying to make sure that everything worked properly; during her third phase, you should have gotten a message box when you use the final songstone attack while standing next to her. After you get that message, she can be calmed with a calm spell, or the calm enchantment from the songstone.
it may have had to do with my proximity; she fell into the water on the third fight and I used water walk to attack from above, that might have caused the songstone mishap. I completed three of the song cycles without resetting the timer, but nothing changed. I'll play thru again and see if I can keep her on the walkway for the fight.
