I installed Wealth Within Measure to see what it was like. Made me think that it would be rather wonderful to implement some kind of stock trading system in Morrowind - each quest could send various stocks up/down, so you could influence the markets directly.
No - you don't need to get out more! The idea of doing a quest and seeing people's shares go through the floor has made me smirk! Just imagine House Hlaalu; and Crassius's reaction! What say you Uncle Pumpkin Curio?
I've tried this out this morning as my new character is not a hero and her small amount of gold needs to be safe and doing something. I've seen two banks so far and I love them. I got to the Balmora one at 6am and it was closed! I was delighted. I hate how MW shops are open at all hours. Anyway, I'm really pleased with this. Thank you!
Adding banks (and gold weight) is pretty revolutionary for how you approach the game, I think. Again, sadly, you won't be able to use "worth its weight" gold weight mod, but hopefully there is something similar for OpenMW.
Yes. A share trading platform in game influenced by your actions would be rather fun. I guess it would become a massive gold exploit though, as you are obviously the only entity in the game able to influence outcomes.. Not much investment risk in that! Maybe could add in some extra logic with some random numbers that gives the potential for losses even when your actions should have been beneficial to your holdings.. (Way, way beyond my current Morrowind coding skills..)
Nice! So does your mod alter the existing branches or add new banks to TR locations? Sorry if the question is dumb, I just couldn't understand from description.
Sorry, this mod includes everything in the original, but adds new locations. It is meant to be used as a replacement for the original mod.
Full disclosure: my "new" locations are just copy and pasted from the other locations. I figured, nobody REALLY cares if their bank branch and staff are unique! But they look appropriate for the locations, so I'm happy with it, and I'm quite picky about things being "lore correct".
