This looks really cool. I looked at the lua code, and it should be doable in OpenMW Lua as well(0.49 only)

If I ported it, would you add it to your mod?

    Great work regardless!

An openmw port would be great, and I'd be happy to add it to this modpage if you make one. Or you can feel free to upload it independently if you want to

      Here is the port.

      Video
      Source Page

Has the same settings, unfortunately there is no air jumping since there's no omw equivalent of tes3.mobilePlayer:doJump or tes3.createVisualEffect

And since there is no sound playing method yet, I had to add 2 objects to the ESP that will play the sound via mwscript.

OpenMW Dev(0.49) is required, since otherwise there's no method to find out if the player is levitating or not. The settings page will alert the player if they have an older version, or if they don't have the esp loaded.

Also, I added an optional setting to allow you to "take off" from the water. Feel free to remove it. Not sure of the balance implications. It's disabled by default currently though.

Please add it to this modpage if you'd like, there's no reason for me to host my own version.

OpenMW version is updated to include the spell requirement, and a fix for slowfalls.

absolutely one of my favorite mods ever! would it be possible to include an option to make holding jump go up, so that i can look down while still moving up? specifically asking for the openmw version. :) edit: i guess this is actualy related to swimming controls, which have the same issue and it's something out of the scope of this mod, so probably just ignore me lol

My favorite mod by far, it's incredible
I'm really hoping for the ability to air jump on the openmw version soon.

I have OpenMW .49, which is the latest build. However the OpenMW version does not work. The script menu is saying that my OpenMW version is too old to use this.

OpenMW 0.49 doesn't exist yet, so if your build of it is too old you won't be able to use the mod. Download a newer version built in the last week or two.

I love this so much I've been abusing it a lot. that's really game changing and more intuitive. is it possible to make this illegal in settlements tho ? the levitation act mod doesn't register this mod's features as player crimes, but some n'wah jumping rooftops around town is clearly major public order disruption. that's exactly the kind of sh*t a mage would be arrested for.

or something like sheath your weapon, like ordinators threatening to arrest you if you don't get down immediately so you can jump stair a bit and catch yourself mid air, but you can't go home invading locked house by floating yourself to the roof door in front of cops. I don't know if it's feasible but if high level guards like ordinators could ground you by script-dispelling your levitation, that would balance things out a lot a be a bit more immersive.
is coding some kind of start/stop inertia to the leviation effect to make it less stiff possible with the engine btw ?

Having an issue in the latest OpenMW dev builds where I can activate both the slowfall and levitate, but it's permanent, free and I can't stop it, as if it is a toggle. Went into the settings and changed everything I could,  but nothing was able to stop the slowfall or levitate effects. The effect is completely permanent, even casting levitate while under the mod's levitate effect fails to stop it.

Have this same issue starting from maybe a week ago. I would revert but the settings menu was broken in earlier nightly builds so I guess I just have to wait for a fix

Legend, thanks for the quick fix! This mod has been surprisingly essential to my enjoyment of Morrowind at this point

Any way to make this compatible with Jump Air Dash?
The main issue is that it uses the Jump key to activate for both mods so it's a "either or" type situation.

I would merely need to be able to change the keybind for this mod.

One of my favorite mods. Thrilled to see this and an openmw version.

Just one small mention, the openmw version doesn't seem to cause any skill increase on using, whether spamming it or sustaining it.

OpenMW currently doesn't have a way to increase skills the same way MWSE does. I can modify the skill progress but it's a flat scale between 0-1. Skill progress also depends on if your skill is misc, minor, or major, and there's currently no way to determine that.

I put in an issue to get support for something like this but currently that feature is exclusive to MWSE.

Understood! I just didn't see it documented. In any case, love to have a mod like this for OpenMW, thank you for your work!

OpenMW now supports this feature, so the OpenMW port of the mod has been updated to support it.

Can you please add fractional magica cost (not integer) and zero cost (to emulate Vivec Temple blessing)? I use custom levitation spells 1p for 11s (costs 1 magica) and 1p for 58s (costs 8 magica). So my magica consumption is about 0.1 per second and the minimum in this mod is 1/s, so it's 10 times higher. If you decide to do so, please add customizable levitation points option (now it is 10p and I use 1p because with Blinding Speed Boots there is no matter to spend more magica if I fly fast enough).

Also I suggest to add auto-disabling option with timer to not run out of magica when you forgot to disable levitation when just walk. If you will decide to add auto-disabling timer, please make the highest value equal to 28 minutes (half of game 24-hour day) to emulate Vivec Temple blessing.

hi, guys! How to play this mod with OpenMw 0.49? I can't see any differences in Levitation spell behavior when press jump key (space bar). Need I to buy alternative spell? I edited main.lua, set levelreq = 20, as my Alternation level is 23 and still have no effect with custom and default (10p/30sec) spells.
I plugged AlterationMovement.omwscripts in mod list in OpenMw Launcher. OpenMw 0.49 Dev installed 3 days ago. And no ReadMe files in both versions archives - MWSE and OpenMw - I dunno what to do

If you enabled the omwscripts file in the launcher make sure you enabled the esp as well (lack_alterationmovement.esp). Also, you don't need to edit the lua files to change the level requirements, you can change it in-game in the options menu under the "scripts" section. You will only need to buy/cast levitation if you have enabled the learning option in the options menu.

And to clarify the controls you don't need to cast the default 10p/30second, if you have an active traditional levitation effect the mod controls wont do anything. Just jump, and press jump again to start flying.

      Hope that helps!

Thank you, I missed "Scripts" sections in in-game menu. And I had to change Alteration levelreq in this menu, editing lua not affected the game.

Can you please expand your mod on Stop the Moon Shrine blessing in Vivec temple? Same thing, but double pressing jump key doesn't consume magica and spell lasts as it is - 12 in-game hours or 24 real time minutes. And I like an idea that I got to pay for it returning to Vivec temple every time and spend one bottle of levitation potion.

Also you can add a feature to this blessing to prevent its overpowering - when PC draws a weapon or gets ready a spell, this blessing is dispelling like in  No More Air Supremacy. It would be a fair deal - fly and swallow heal potions after cliff racers attacks or "fight like men, on the ground" (c) (GLA quote from "C&C: Generals", they got no aviation as Americans do), and then again - you got to return to Vivec temple and spend another potion to get blessed.

Thank you for a great mod, endorsed.
