Hi sinyor can i use it with openMW 0.49 and how to use it actually, need to extract files direct to data files or inside sound/music folders? Plus is there a plugin?
MEME won't work for OpenMW, it needs MUSE which is a MWSE-lua mod. You could check out this mod that basically is a music framework similar to MUSE but for OpenMW only. Besides that, I don't know anything about it, so you will have to ask for more help there.
Hi, Nerevar42. I test my game and find some small bug in lua. "Maar Gan shrine" - must be "Maar Gan, Shrine". It is in "temple" lua code. Music from folder "Temple" dont work in maar gan shrine from this)
Hi again ! Thanks for the report ! Whenever the next version comes up, this will be fixed. In the meantime, changing the line in the lua code should be enough to prevent any issues.
Hello everyone. Tell me please, do you have any problems with music? Everything worked fine for me before, but now music switches very poorly between regions. You enter the dungeons, the music immediately changes, but when you go back out into the field, the music from the dungeon remains, and I smell the flowers to the disturbing music from the tomb. Crossing the borders of a region, music should change, but it does not change, or changes for a very long time.
P.S. Of course, Regions are in queue or whatever I have turned off in MUSE)
MEME needs some polishing and further testing, but I still didn't quite find the time to properly go back into MW modding last year.
In its current state however, the mod should work fine, except for the issue raised below about a crash with one of the battle tracks which I didn't take the time to recreate.
What you describe is typically what happens when you turn ON the region queueing, so if you are absolutely sure that it is turned OFF, I'm not sure where the problem might come from.
Try turning this option on and off to see what happens, and always start a new game before testing another config.
However I don't think it will be that easy to translate this mod, because cell names can be quite different from one version to another, especially considering some cell names contain each other. If you end up doing it, I would gladly add it to the list of optional files since I think it will require quite a lot of work !
My friend Pirate433 did it. And this is great work) And sorry, i dont asked you, but i translate Wyrmhaven and i did some config files for MUSE and your MEME. And i recommended use your mode for music on Wyrmhaven)
Mom always said I was special; And once again I would seem to be the only person experiencing a CTD at [Battle Music]... Had to disable [Battle Music] in MUSE2...
Otherwise: FANTASTIC MUSIC... can't believe how seamless it is with the original music... can't believe after 20+ years how tired I was of the original music. Thank You
Specific Symptom: Battle Music didn't always play, so often I would fight with the standard cinematic soundtracks. But on occasion I would CTD. After much study, it was clearly triggered when MUSE2 was gonna start Battle Music. eg. evil NPC notices me, soundtrack pauses, split second later staring at my desktop. Nothing in Warnings.txt... Nothing I could find in the LUA.log
EDIT: Other MUSE2 mods did not have this issue. But since I prefer this mod... Battle Music had to go.
Hi dejunai ! Thank you for your interest in my mod and your feedback !
That's weird since I didn't really experience any CTD after battle music triggered when I was testing the mod myself back in 2023. I'll need to take a look at this, but I won't be able to fix any bugs until later this year since I am busy IRL with other matters. Was this happening with a specific type of enemy ? Are you sure you installed the mod properly as stated in the description ?
EDIT : It also might have something to do with the fact that one of the battle music tracks zipped into MEME isn't a strictly 44100 Hz .mp3 file, which could instantaneously crash the game. You can also nuke any description or added commentary to the mp3 file to ensure that it is fit for MUSE usage. I'll check that myself later this year.
You do absolutely need MUSE for this mod to work as intended, as stated in the description. It's fairly easy to install, and there's not that much to edit in MEME itself to make it work (follow the steps detailed in the description). If you want help on how MUSE works, I recommend you to ask more specific questions on the mod page or on the MMC Discord.
Hi! congrats on the release, this looks very well put together and like it took a long time. I'd like to try meme out but I'd have to remove some other muse mods - and chances are that (hopefully not!) I'm not gonna like meme, and I'd like to delete it and replace with my old music setup. Can this be safely done mid-safe? Thank you.
First, don't feel obligated to completely "replace" your old MUSE mods. If you are a bit familiar with MUSE, you could just as well mix things up to reach a balanced configuration for your own personal use. If you are not familiar with it but still want to try, feel free to follow the few steps detailed in the description.
The safest way to install a mod is through MO2, this way you can deactivate it fairly easily when you don't want it anymore, and can reactivate it just as fast without having to lose time cleaning your original folders file by file. But you probably already know that.
If you want to use only MEME instead of other mods (I still heavily recommend Joetechno's mods though), feel relieved : you can add it or remove it on your game whenever you want. Saves aren't affected at all by MEME, and not by any MUSE mods in general.
Hey, I've got to say it was quite a long read. Together with piecing it together to make it work, but it really does. Now all it remains is to check for any inconsistencies during normal gameplay. Thank you for MEME :)
Got a question though as I might have not pick up the answer from the long readme on the main page. What about mods such as Firemoth Reclaimed which add custom music for the area? Do they overlap or one of them takes priority over the other?
For mods such as Firemoth Reclaimed, it doesn't require MUSE so any music added to the cells it modifies is scripted through the TESCS and therefore will override the music set up through MUSE. Atmospheric Delights and Animated Morrowind are among those mods too.
If I may add a suggestion: I checked Solstheim music and while most (if not all) comes from Skyrim, I think Dragonborn DLC would fit a bit better there. I mean, the DLC was created for that region and some of those soundtracks have both Morrowind and Skyrim feel to them. That said, Skyrim soundtrack is a great fit too!
Hi ! To my knowledge, there is only four explore tracks in the Dragonborn OST that aren't the exact sames as the explore tracks of the original Morrowind. So not enough for my region folders. Although I could add them in some way in an upcoming update, so thank you for the suggestion !
I did something similar, though it was only the ESO music for explore tracks, It doesn't get rid of any of the original soundtrack. Well done here, must of been a pain. I salute you.
actually curating a MUSE structure that WORKS and is comprehensive is such an exhausting task, and it's always exciting when someone uploads their config because it lets me modify my own way more exactingly! that this reaches to Tamriel Rebuilt locations with the same folders as vanilla is one of those rare things, and for it to be up to date is an aetherius-sent blessing
e: just found the soundtrack for ToddTest. absolutely incredible selection.
ee: finally sat down and integrated a bunch of your configs into my own MUSE install. thanks for sharing your hard work!
Oh absolutely. I've been going a bit of a different direction using unifying instruments for each zone--Azura's Coast is cellos, Sheogorad is bells, Ashlands is flutes, etc--but there's a lot of music in your selections that fit what I've been after, and my Bitter Coast folder especially was always struggling for a theme but the stuff you included made it a lot easier to unify. I was able to clean up my Vivec soundtrack a ton too! Having unique themes for places like the Ministry of Truth wasn't something I'd considered either and those are definitely in my install now.
Sadly I couldn't tell you if it is OpenMW compatible, since I just don't know anything about this game engine. MUSE itself is a requirement and a MWSE mod though, so you will probably need to check out if MUSE is available for OpenMW before downloading MEME.

OK I understand now what happened ! xD

It was indeed a long and tiring work, so I thought really quickly about uploading it so people could use it for their own game.
