When I steal something and leave, find a guard and talk to him, I only have the option of Going to Jail or Resisting Arrest. Even if I have the gold to pay off the fine. And if I do resist, he doesn't attack me.
Tested on openmw 0.47 stable, may behave differently on vanilla engine. When costly item is stolen, it increase bounty as expected. But when cheap item is stolen after, it overwrite the bounty to zero.
Does your patch address this issue? (I don't see it mentioned in description, sorry if it does mention it.)
Hmm, I don't play at all, but for sure try this mod again with your addenum, next time I'll get the morroitch. I played with lot of mods then and on different version, seems like issue on my side.
For some reason, I pay 1.5 times my bounty, For example, it says I have a bounty of 40, the guards take an extra 20. I have a bounty of 500, they take an extra 250. (OpenMW 0.46)
Yes, this is intended, for a "fair" balance with gold stealing. Example: you steal 100 gold pieces => you have a bounty of 100. The guards would take 100 and you lose nothing... So i introduced this +50%...
The +50% is the additional fine for stealing/pickpocketing. If you don't have the +50% in your pocket - example, you have 125% - they will take all (100% + 25%).
Thank you for your reply! I mentioned this because it also happened if I have a bounty for non-commercial acts, like punching a guard. The bounty is 40, I pay 60 for punching a guard. Oh, well. Good to see it is intended behavior.
I don't see this pb because i play with Coherent Guards Reaction: if i punch someone, the guards don't ask me for a bounty, they attack me! But if i try to unlock an owned lock (non-commercial act), they ask for the normal fine (no +50%), so it seems to work for me.
@PocketEnt Ok, i verified, and you're right. So i just added a little message for the OpenMW version (the concerned version), to justify extra gold taken from you: "The guard takes extra gold from you, in compensation..."
It would be too time-consuming to strip the "Put it back" functionality from Privileges&Services, and for a poor result (my point of view...). But you making me think of a second file especialy for vanilla, who contains only the other corrections. It awaits you in the download section... £:^)

Edit: Nevermind, it was another innocuous mod.
