Oh my god man, i got fucking trolled, i downloaded this thinking it was gonna make the rain sound cleaner but it was just fart noises, i just sat there dumbfounded and i laughed at myself... oooh man, i didnt even read the tags... funny guy, i got rickrolled
Great, for those unaware, all this does is replace heavy rain with fart noises. Downloaded this thinking it would be a softer sound than the vanillia's overpowering rain noises. When I realized it was this mod doing it, I tried to see if there was another rain sound replacer on the Nexus, but couldn't find one. Deleting the rain file made the game unplayable, so I did the next best thing and verified the game integrity hoping it would fix it. It broke every mod I had and now the game is unplayable.
Listen boss man and listen carefully for I will say this once. ALWAYS backup before installing new content. I'm surprised that still to this day there are people who overwrite original files.
Don't blame the mod for breaking your game when you overwrite things that shouldnt be overwritten. You broke it :)
If you want the original rain sfx, send me a message on discord and I'll link it to you -> BUULU #1655
The way this mod has been presented appears to be a legitimate rain effect replacer offering an improvement over the harsher sound of the default effect. Obviously that is not the case.
At best it's a childish prank. At worst it's deception.
To avoid potential backlash from users perhaps you should consider advising people on your description page to backup their "rainHVY.wav" file prior to installing your mod. This way you have provided the user "fair warning".
Well, to start with, I managed to fix it. While verifying integrity did return the original, non-gassy rainHVY.wav file, I was getting mountains of errors on trying to load a save or start a new game. Turns out that verifying the files basically did three things I had to fix: Unchecked all my data files, borked the Morrowind Code Patch, and removed all the BSA's from the .ini file. Once I fixed those it seems to be running fine again. So future reference for anyone, that's what you need to do if your game messes up after verifying.
And look, I get it. Trolling or being silly is fun. And yeah it was my fault for not backing up files. And I'll be honest, I probably wouldn't have cared if it was one of those files that didn't replace the stuff in the base game. Delete the file, shrug, move on. Same if there was another easy to find mod that added a rainHVY.wav file. But especially after spending a whole day fiddling with mods to get them to work in harmony, the prospect at having to go through all that again was...not pleasant. Especially over a mod that changes heavy rain into fart noises.
So, yeah, gotta agree with SAJNM on this one, considering it's a replacer for something that isn't common (i.e., something like clothes or body textures, which have tons of mods to get replacements if you overwrite), and can basically ruin someone's experience if it's installed with no backup, this is teetering on the edge of "silly joke" into "malicious". Especially since between the mod name and other comments, it seems completely legitimate. Because of the description and sarcastic comments, the only way to tell what this mod really is, is that tiny little "humor, joke, or just for fun" tag that is extremely easy to miss if you're on a modding binge.

... Sorry :/
When I first heard this mod I was driven into a fever frenzy, I needed more. I wrote a script to mass copy rainHVY.wav to every sound file.
I now regret this decision and did not back up my original game files. Please fix this.
