About this mod

Lord Nerevar's Grand Abode lies between Ebonheart and Vivec, just outside the Hlaalu Canton.

But why is such a beautiful place abandoned? Surely it's nothing dangerous...

A reconstruction of "A Grand Abode" made to be compatible with BCOM and other mods that change Balmora.

In 2004, MikeL, the creator of this little plugin, made the beta of the 3.2 version of A Grand Abode available on his site along with the textures he planned to use for a new secret set of armor.
Unfortunately, this work was left unfinished, though it remained available thanks to the Web Archive and Morrowind Modding History.

Enjoy this little blast from the past, however crowded Balmora is.

1. Description

Lord Nerevar's Grand Abode lies between Ebonheart and Vivec, just outside the Hlaalu Canton.

But why is such a beautiful place abandoned? Surely it's nothing dangerours...

Compatible with BCOM and other mods that change Balmora.

It is freely accessible, but to get full access may require a rather powerful character if you want to survive what may be discovered.

It contains a number of somewhat overpowered objects behind lock and key; if you could only get the key.
If using the cheatless esp replacer it will not contain any overpowered items.

2. Installing the Plugin
*****************************************************************

The installation has been simplified with the use of a bsa archive
This allows for greater compatibility bacause nothing gets overwritten in your data files

Requires all expansions.
(OpenMW) Requires Morrowind Optimization Project: https://www.nexusmods.com/morrowind/mods/45384

1. Extract the files into your Data Files directory (Vanilla) OR into your mods directory (OpenMW)
2. (OpenMW) Add the mods directory to your openmw.cfg file located in ~\Documents\my games\OpenMW\
3. Register the bsa file in openmw.cfg (OpenMW) OR morrowind.ini (Vanilla)
4. Activate ONLY ONE esp, do not use both the main plugin and the cheatless version.

The mod is now installed, enjoy!

Lord-Nerevars-Grand-Abode.bsa           -- All the resources such as textures and sounds
Lord-Nerevars-Grand-Abode.ESP           -- The main plugin
Lord-Nerevars-Grand-Abode-cheatless.ESP -- Optional esp replacer that removes unbalanced items

3. Uninstalling the Plugin
*****************************************************************

Remove any items stored in or nearby the abode.
Go into a different building or a far-away city, then make a new save.
De-activate the esp file from the launcher.
Re-launch the game and go back to where the abode was.
If everything still works, you can remove the mod files.

4. Additional Notes and Compatibility
*****************************************************************

A Grand Abode has been relocated to be compatible with Beautiful Cities of Morrowind, and other mods that change Balmora.
All loose files are packed into bsa archive.
The interior has been remade to fit inside one cell, as a result there are no load doors inside the abode.
Original 1.0 version of "A Grand Abode" has been merged with the 3.2 remake and manually cleaned, retaining original items.
Slight redesign of the abode interior and exterior.
Most doors have been locked until the key is retrieved from the boss.
Cursed diamonds have the value of real diamonds, how should anyone be able to tell?

Optional Cheatless version:
Defeat the boss to gain full access to the abode, however no unbalanced items are within.
Some rooms redesigned to account for the lack of items.
Cursed diamonds are worthless.
