Balanced Fixed Game Settings

After realizing I was using a lot of separate mods to balance the game only by tweaking Game Settings (GMSTs), I decided to create a new addon with the aim of rebalancing Morrowind based on fixes and changes introduced by many different authors over time with the same compelling view of making it a more immersive, rewarding experience, albeit a tad harder and unforgiving. In short, BFGS enhances the game in a highly compatible way by editing values for calculations related to movement and fatigue usage (walking, running, attacking, blocking, swimming, jumping), economy (alchemy, bribing, repairing, enchanting, recharging, spell learning, training, traveling), crime (bounty, trespassing, stealing, killing, pickpocket mechanics fix), leveling (no misc. skill attribute increase), and immersion (removing those annoying messages from enchanted weapons depleted of charges and halving the distance for greeting NPCs).

Note that BFGS integrates both Economy Settings Tweaked and Movement and Fatigue Settings Tweaked. Overall, it's pretty easy to customize the settings' values by yourself using Bethesda's or OpenMW's Construction Set. If you'd prefer only the changes related to those aspects of the game, please refer to their mod pages. Also check out the original mods below for more details and endorse the OGs if you like their work, and have fun!

❓ What is included?
  • Just one plug-in: Balanced Fixed Game Settings.esp (2.64 KB) and its alternative versions.
  • Choose the No Levelup Fix alternative if you use another leveling mod or if you want to still increase attribute gain from leveling miscellaneous skills.
  • Choose the No Pickpocket Fix alternative if you prefer the Pickpocket overhaul game mechanic patch from MCP (thanks, tyrthyllanos!).
⚠️ DON'T USE BOTH the main plug-in version and the Pickpocket overhaul patch from MCP or you will break the pickpocket mechanics again! ⚠️

📙 Some details:
  • As long as economy goes, I tried to raise all prices equally (by around 2x), with the exception of traveling.
  • Silt Strider rides from Seyda Neen to Balmora are still "fast, cheap and safe", as advised by Sellus Gravius.
  • Traveling instantaneously through Mages Guild guides is a bit more expensive than by Caravaners or Gondoliers.
  • The base success chance for bargaining has been decreased, though it's still very accessible overall.
  • Killing a citizen still does not issue a death warrant (default: 5000g), which could be troubling for some quests.
  • The Mudcrab Merchant and Creeper NPCs are left untouched - only game settings are altered.
  • Speed of movement has been raised equivalently for the player, as well as for NPCs and creatures.
  • You will still lose fatigue when running near your encumbrance limit with lower levels of Endurance.
  • While jumping height hasn't changed, the distance traveled from jumping has been rebalanced.
  • Acrobatics and Athletics are still useful and there's reason to use enchanted items and spells to explore.
