How is this mod installed? So far I have found some lua based programming, but not how to install it. Simply extracting the files into the right folder seems not to be enough (the mod doesn´t work so far). And yes, I have updated MWSE.
Keys only lock the doors they unlock. The inside and outside doors are, strictly speaking, separate objects, and so if the key is not set up to unlock the inside door as well, it cannot lock it.
Just what I was looking for. I also got your practice makes perfect, and I love how "small" MWSE mods can make such an impact on gameplay. Thanks a ton.
On a sidenote, a shame that OpenMW team are such blockheads for not wanting MSWE. Because such mods would be really amazing in a multiplayer mode.
I know right. I'm honestly not joking that I think it'd be one of the biggest advances in the TES series, OpenMW having an engine with less hard-coded restrictions, plus the freedom of creation of MWSE. But from what NullCascade mentioned in one of his mods posts, OpenMW team wasn't open to implementing MWSE despite he offering the hand. Makes me pissed on how the lack of that interface handicaps the modding community potential.
Looks like OpenMW is working on LUA scripting soon so that's a good step at least. OpenMW has already come an absurdly far way from the old days so who knows in the long haul, maybe one day.
I love that you did this... I dont mean to sound like an ingrate but would it be very difficult to make the skeleton key lock any door at all? even doors without keys?

I'm not sure how to test if this mod is working or not (since it relies upon a unique item).
Console command and summon skeleton key, I suppose? I'll give that a chance...
Tested the mod with the key you get from the starting area; seemed to work.
Question though, are keys only supposed to be able to lock doors from the outside? Because trying to lock the door from within never once worked.
