I'm wondering if this is a intended feature or a bug report. After gathering and identifying a ton of unidentified items, I finally found one that was outstanding: a 'Enchantable Belt of the Seer', with 20 Detect Key, 20 Detect Enchantment, and 100 (!) enchant capacity.  It was perfect.

Unfortunately, I discovered when I went to actually enchant it, adding a custom enchantment removes the features present on the original belt. So now I have a better-than-standard 'Belt of Strength' (Fortify Strength 1-39), but it no longer detects anything. Was this an intended part of the mod, for balance, or were the original enchantments supposed to persist and don't?

After identifying item with enchanter tooltips with item effects don't show up, only item name.

Yes, the code needs to be updated after an MWSE update. It's on my to-do but between new projects and too many mods to maintain, it's so going :(

Kapert, in case you didn't see it, JosephMcKean has an updated version of the MWSE main.lua that does correctly display item enchantments.

I believe items of the Atronach are broken (if they come from this, I think they do, but it's possible I am mistaken)

If you have the atronach birthsign, wearing an item of the atronach, and then removing, makes your stunted magicka stop working.

You can't have two instances of "Stunted Magicka", so when you remove it from yourself by taking off the enchanted item, it means the birthsign version stops working too.

      You might be right :(
Short of removing all the atronach enchantments, I can't think of a solution.

I like this a lot, I was hoping for something a little different that doesn’t seem to exist—does anyone know of a mod which makes existing enchanted items outside of stores unidentified by default? I love the system in Daggerfall/Arena of taking a chance picking up an item where all you know is that it’s magical, and you take it to the guild to get identified (or learn a spell if you’re skilled enough). That’s what I’m looking for, I’ll definitely have fun with this but wanted to ask if anyone else has seen something like that.
Thank you and I’m excited for this one :)

    Hello,
Cool mod thanks for making! Not sure if i messed something up. I can use the id service to identify the items but they just seem to have a name no enchantment. Or should the id items have an enchantment shown or are they just named items?

    Thank you

      Try updating MWSE.
There was an issue with the tooltips not showing properly (for the cursed items)
I am not a coder, so I cannot check it myself. I'll ask for help though I am not currently modding. Having a Morrowind break.

Hey Danae123. Seeing a texture error with this:
TES3Stream Warning: Model "Meshes\BC\tealM_common_shirt_gnd.nif" tex not found "tealX_common_shirt_gnd.dds"!
    Texture Load Error!: tealX_common_shirt_gnd.dds

    [Look what you started!]

The credits mention Better Bodies for the shirt and pants model. Is this mod therefore dependent on Better Bodies?

The clothes are better clothes models, the mod will run without BB and better clothes, but your character will look like they have better bodies and there might be some clipping.

If I don't watch the tutorial I would never have thought the identify service is included in the enchanting service. A little bit unintuitive if you ask me. Overall, pretty nice addition to the game! Good work, Aurel, AxeMagister, and Danae!

Does this play well with DRIP?

DRIP won't have any impact on this mod, because the unidentified items are misc. Also, DRIP doesn't just work with any mod. You need integrations from modders.

I've gotten this to work just fine in the past, but now the identify icon is not appearing in the enchantment screen. Any idea why?

Yes, the latest MWSE update exposed a bug in the code. It's being updated, then tested, I'll update asap
      edit: DONE

Good to know this wasn't just my own stupidity at fault here (a rare occasion). Redownloaded and fixed. Thank you, this is one of your many mods that I'm happy to have in my permanent loadout!
