I came running here because the lava mud cavern mod just tanked my framerate, your textures saved me, good job.

I'll second the request for an option for 2K textures, if possible.

As this is only textures, it will cause zero problems with gameplay, such as items buried in meshes. Fits well with vanilla colors. Thank you.

Thank you for your feedback) To be honest, it was a very long time ago and rather "experimental work", it is unlikely that I will be able to find the sources)

These are well made and I appreciate the inclusion of normal maps.
They work fine in OpenMW (0.46.0).

That being said there are two main reasons that I'm currently not using these textures:

    1)

tx_natural_cavern_wall20.dds - tiles badly, it has rock cracks that very obviously repeat if the texture is used side by side, one example of this is the first camber of the bandit cave outside of Seyda Neen.
There is also a large cavern camber under Mournhold (Tribunal expansion) where this texture gets repeated over and over (both vertically and horizontally).

tx_natural_cavern_wall00.dds - this also tiles rather noticeably, see Mamaea (Sanctum of Awakening) - the eastern water & rock pillar chamber.

Note: Mamaea is one of the few caves that transitions between different rock textures and also needs updated versions of tx_cavern_bone10.dds, tx_cavern_bone20.dds and tx_cavern_bone30.dds.

    2)

I would prefer to have these textures and normal maps in 2K (2048 x 2048) if possible, rather than as 1K (1024 x 1024).
I already have 2K texture replacers for 3 out of 4 of these cave rock textures.

I installed version 1.1 of this mod; checked out a few caves; all looks good and no problems found. Endorsed!

I'm using OpenMW 0.46.0 - I've suggested an "OpenMW" tag.

I had some problems extracting the RAR archive. Here's some notes for others experiencing similar difficulties.

    • I tried unrar from the command line but it was unable to extract any files. I don't imagine many use this but it normally works fine for Morrowind mods in RAR format (from Nexus and other sites).
    • I next tried Universal Extractor which had the same problem.
    • I was finally able to extract the files using 7-Zip.

By the way, the Read_me.txt is written in Cyrillic. Despite the name, I can't read it. :-)

I was also concerned about a possible conflict with Taddeus On the Rocks with normal maps for OpenMW which I already had installed. It uses completely different textures to this mod: no conflict.

I'm glad you enjoyed it. It is ideal to unpack using WinRar. the plugin will still be updated. Now there are two basic textures for each cave. Plus two normals.

I'll add tag "OpenMW" and English read me, to day:)
