Im curious, has anyone tried "Morrowind-NPCs-Go-Home" which is linked on this page? Im cautious of using scheduling mods, because they tend to break quests, but it looks like it's worth installing. :)

I ran that mod for a while, and while it was a more improved version of this, i ultimately had to remove it as it caused my game to crash frequently, once removed i managed to play for 9 hours with no problems.

Can confirm for anyone reading this in the future - it is wildly unstable and not usable atm. Probably why it hasn't been officially published yet. Shame, I like the features they added over this mod. At the time of writing it seems like this mod might not be working 100% either (locking doors dont seem to reset during the day, at least for me)

I am using the aforementioned mod but only for hiding npc's at night. It works fine most of the time and adds a lot of immersion. It DOES crash your game sometimes when it re-enables ton of NPC's, but that's a rare occasion (happens once or twice in several hours of gameplay) and a price I'm ready to pay for watching dark empty streets with only shady persons sneaking around. The "door-locking" part of the mod is completely broken for me and just locks all the doors forever, but this feature is easy to turn off.

From changelog, not sure if author is updating this.  But would like to say that I've been using it and sort of like it.  My gripe with it is that it locks buildings that I think should be open 24/7.  I'm talking about what you would consider public places such as temples and Imperial Cult places, guild houses, Vivec cantons and inns.  If this mod gets updated, I would like to see a feature to exclude those types of places.  It just breaks immersion in the game.

I have left some bug reports but never heard anything back. I used a different name though. I will try this out

I had started a new game with this mod enabled, I tested it out and it appeared to have been working exactly as it should have but now a few hours in it just seems to have stopped working. Doors still lock, but I noticed that all the NPCs in Pelegiad and Balmora that had disappeared would not reappear (everyone other than the guards), and I couldn't figure out how to get them back no matter how I fiddled with the mod settings. If I go back to Seyda Neen, all the NPCs are still there, but they don't disappear anymore either. Any ideas on what could be wrong or at least how I could get my NPCs in Pelegiad and Balmora back?

I'll be frank, I have no idea what could be wrong. The mod was having some issues on my end too, but I haven't been playing much Morrowind lately, so I haven't been able to take a look. To bring people back, I would recommend waiting until morning, and then (while in the area) manually enabling everyone via console. That is, go to UESP, look up Pelagiad. It will have a list of everyone there, just type in "name but lowercase"->enable into the console for the whole list. It might be a bit time consuming, but it should work.

Thanks for the reply. I was able to bring everyone back with that console command as you said

Playing this with Tamriel Rebuilt, it seems like it's disappearing a lot of the NPCs in the dock and not bringing them back properly.

What version are you on? Have you updated recently, and from what to what?

Have you pressed Z? you could be in the middle of a timer cycle when they should be coming back.

Thank you for updating, can I suggest to have dead NPCs not disabled by default? That would avoid to manually add them to the blacklist.

Great idea, I'm surprised I missed that. "Coming right up," as it were.

Thank you for the support still. Could you please enable automatic download through mod managers as well, please? That way I can be notified if your mod gets another update down the line. ^^

This is a great mod so I replaced it with the one I was currently using, but now I'm thinking I may have to switch back, my biggest problems are my companions disappearing, I tried Using the blacklist feature but it doesn't seem to work for me for some reason i have had to toggle the mod on and off because of this, is there anyway you could revamp the blacklist system? if not then its okay this was a great mod tho

And here I thought I had the blacklist issues ironed out. Did you make sure to blacklist your companion before they disappeared? It won't automatically bring them back.

I feel like guild's should be an exception if you're a member. The beds in guilds are a great place to rest if you don't want to shell out the cash for an inn.

Use the blacklist, blacklist all the guild halls. Alternatively, check if Celediel's mod has guild features (I honestly can't remember).

This mod works well! Maybe too well. Two things that would make this even better:

    1. Automatically blacklist anyone who's currently following you. Always freaks me out when they suddenly disappeared and I thought I've messed things up somewhere.
    2. The ability to blacklist only for bad weather/nighttime. See, Starfire's NPCs (Danae's edit) already adds NPCs who only appear at daytime or at night, but if I blacklist the entire plugin, then they would still be wandering around in bad weather.

Would it be possible to add those two features?

As the mod's description now makes clear, I am not interested in adding new features currently. The "Forked" version linked does seem to have code to detect and ignore followers, and a separate bad weather blacklist (it is only for races and classes right now, but I told the author about your request and it will be expanded upon).

Ah, that's wonderful! I will be using the forked version then. Thank you for your reply!
