I'm having an issue where Tetra just goes off in a random direction rather than following me.

Having an issue with Tetra the Guar and Paxon the Rat on OpenMW v49 with the Total Overhaul modlist.  The companion share feature doesn't seem to do anything, and I'm not sure why.  Anyone have any suggestions?

Tetra is the Ultimate Companion Mod - utility, loyalty and durability - also not overly chatty which is good. The quest to find Tetra is such a good setup and right at the start of the game as well.

Whenever I summon the guar with a drum, and my character's in a public place (such as Caldera) the guards all get mad and try to attack my character!

Otherwise great work. I especially love that Tetra can carry a bunch of gear. This means Joan's overall Speed is higher.

Vanilla guards don't exhibit this form of behavior. Are you running a guard A.I. mod? Tetra's summoning code does start combat on the player for about a frame for A.I. script related reasons I won't elaborate on here, and a lot of guard mods pick up on this and begin combat as a result.

If you are running such a mod, I'd recommend discontinuing use as they tend to be quite glitchy with companions in general.

Sorry you're having trouble, please PM me if you have any questions.

    Good day.

How did you disable the Light feature? Is there an easy way to re-enable it? When I went to get Tetra, I discovered that an Archery/Spear-Type character has a problem in those dark caves, with no way to hold a Torch and a Bow or Spear at the same time. I'd use Merlord's Guar Whisperer, as it has the ability to have a light suspended to the Guar's Gear, but its Guars tend to die in Vivec, so that's a no-go. I'll either have to use the Light spell, or re-enable Tetra's light...

    Thank you.
    Regards,

Alright, found it, but it's not all that much help since Tetra is usually somewhat far behind me lol.

I love Tetra so much!!! Thank you for this awesome mod and in case anyone was wondering, use the vanilla version if you use a mod that replaces guars.

Great Mod. Strangely though when the option "Don't follow me inside" is turned on Tetra no longer follows me through fast travel (silt strider etc) but still follows when using intervention spells. Is this a bug? Or maybe an intended limitation?

That sounds like a bug, I'll take a look and get it fixed.

      Thanks for the report!

Thanks a lot. I also use your wolf follower Kolka and noticed similar behaviour, just a heads up.

Kolka and Tetra are on different code bases at the moment. If you're experiencing this behavior with both companions something else may be at fault. I ran tests using both companions and did not observe anything like what you're experiencing; They fast traveled fine via silt strider and boat. Flagging the companion to follow/not follow when warping/using intervention is handled by a different dialogue option.

If you're fast traveling via Mages guild, since they are all by nature 'interior teleports' then they will not follow you from one interior to the other if set to "not follow inside/Stay Outside".

Easy Escort, if you're using it, also usually overrides my warping code. This may also be causing the issue. It also overrides the 'StayOutside' game function used in all non-MWSE companions to flag the follower to not enter interiors.

Please PM me your mod list and I can try troubleshooting from there. Thanks!

Should of added im on openmw 0.47

I tried testing both companions on a new game with no other mods loaded than the companions themselves and still experienced the same behaviour. Don't follow me inside resulted in them not following me via silt strider. Possibly an openmw issue then?

Pm'ed you modlist just incase theres anything. Thanks again
Edit: Just tested on a newer 0.48 build of openmw and the following worked correctly, Tetra stays outside and follows me through silt striders. With and without my other mods enabled/disabled.

Think I just started using tesmerge correctly and Tetra's drum now says summon scamp. still works though.

Oh, that's deliberate. It's a constant effect, but due to the way the drum is scripted you can't actually equip it.

It's mostly so the summoning item is easier to find in inventory, since it has the 'magic item' swirl to the icon instead of looking normal.

Did it not say Summon Tetra before, or am I imagining things?

Double post. Nexus isn't as friendly to mobile devices as it is comps.

Is it normal to get the drum twice?

No, that's not normal. Just greet the companion, there is a condition check for multiples of the summon item. A script will fire and clean the extra copy of the drum up.

      Thanks for using my mod!
