About this mod

Adds climbing, sprinting, and crouch jumping to Morrowind. Also includes a complete rebalance of movement speed mechanics detailed in the readme. This version is designed to work in TES3MP and with the Natural Character Growth & Decay & Better Balanced Combat mods, but requires none.

CHIM - Movement & Stamina TES3MP Edition
Have you ever wanted to climb stuff in Morrowind? I always thought that would be a really cool feature, and multiplayer in MW was also another thing I always wanted. This mod combines the two, and makes the overall experience of Morrowind much more challenging.
All credit goes to Halbenull, the original author. I just played around with it for a week and a half in TES3MP to get it to work, and to adjust the balancing. My release is GPLv3 as is the original. If you do use it, please give credit to the original author.

I recommend using this mod with Better Balanced Combat, but it is by no means necessary. I just like a hardcore morrowind experience.

===========================================================================================REQUIRES OPENMWStamina:- Stamina (fatigue) is consumed much more quickly, but it also regenerates much faster (0.6x endurance per second).- If you run out of stamina you fall down.- Weapon fatigue drain in particular is drastically increased, especially for heavy weapon users. Running:- Tap the walk key while running to sprint and again to stop.- Run speed is the speed at which you very slowly drain fatigue, sprint speed is your maximum speed, and you regenerate stamina while walking.- If you are running through water your speed is reduced.- Attacking will momentarily reduce your speed.Jumping:- There are two ways to jump, your default jump's height does not scale with acrobatics, but if you jump right after uncrouching you will jump much higher (this also scales with strength).- Horizontal speed for both jumps scales with acrobatics. The short one is meant to be used as a dodge, the high one is for jumping.- If your horizontal velocity is high enough you can skip on water by jumping right as you land.Climbing:- Acquire climbing gear and activate it from your inventory or quick key to begin climbing. There is some climbing gear in the Balmora Fighter's Guild, and it's also sold by a few vendors in the major early locations.- You don't regenerate stamina while climbing (or in the air) so the distance you can go is based on how much stamina you have.- Stamina cost of climbing and sprinting is based on athletics (which no longer affects speed).- Your speed while climbing is currently static.Tips:- Originally when the script was written, it cut out a lot of GMSTs related to movement speed and fatigue in order to shortcut its own internal formulae for calculating how fast you're moving. I restored most of these GMSTs and added in the accurate movement speed calculations - please let me know if you encounter any issues with it. In a future update I think I should also be able to include movement speed adjustments based on encumbrance, but for now I decided to leave that alone.- You must be moving towards a wall on the frame that your weapon/spell goes away to collide with it. Simply standing still and facing it won't work no matter how close you are.NOTE: this doesn't quite seem to work yet. I have on occasion been able to start climbing from a standstill in tes3mp.- You cannot start climbing from the air UNLESS you have a slowfall effect on you. You can climb from swimming though.- Whether your character should continue climbing or fall off is determined by if you are colliding with something as you move. This is mostly based on where you're looking. What you need to keep in mind is if you move along a wall in a way that would cause you to not collide with it for several frames will make the script think you aren't on the wall and you'll fall off. Avoid this by always moving towards the wall somewhat.- The stamina cost of climbing still needs to be reworked. I lowered it drastically while testing functionality of the mod. - Various parts of this change the player's speed stat every other frame, based on whether or not it has accurately determined your character's speed and whether or not it's already adjusted your speed. This is a very slight rework of the original function to account for you always having two characters in TES3MP, and also because menumode isn't a thing in tes3mp.- The "fall down when you're out of stamina" feature isn't just because it's cool, it was kindof necessary for any of the balancing to work. I can't really disable it and make it so you can't perform actions with negative stamina instead.- The reverse crouchjumping is a little weird. I'd prefer it so that you can hold the spacebar to charge up your dodge into a jump but that's not possible.- Fall damage is based on the highest point you were in the air at, so keep in mind that slowfall will not save you unless you have the effect as you touch the ground. Stopping your velocity with 1000pts of slowfall for 1s right above the ground will still kill you. This is a vanilla mechanic, and my attempt to get around it by doing fall damage myself was too buggy to include here.Installation Instructions:It's a little overkill since it's just two content files, but you should install every mod the proper way using separate data directories. Here's a page with everything you need to know.In case you hadn't realized by now, this mod is OpenMW exclusive. If you want a vanilla/MWSE version, make it yourself. Everything in it is GPLv3.Edited to work in TES3MP (for sure this time) and to be slightly more difficult. Make sure to include this toward the end of your load order, particularly after any mods which alter your movement speed or fatigue usage.
