I know this post is old but I figured I'd reply for anybody curious in the future. Yes it goes into your "data file" folder. To make sure you installed correctly look at the "data file" tab inside the OpenMW launcher and you should see the mod listed.

When I play, I prefer not to use the console - unless I am testing something - this mod keeps my immersion level uninterrupted, thanks!  Timescale 15 is just about perfect - the default scale is way too fast.

    Hi everyone!

I have two genuine questions about this mod:
1)why would I want to change the timescale? I mean, what does it imply from a RP/immersive point of view to set it to 15 instead of the default 30?  I understand that time will run slower, but why would I do that?

2)Since we can permanently change the timescale with a console command (set timescale to value), why would I want this mod?

Thanks a lot for your answers.

      1. It's just slower. The current timescale is a little too fast for shadows to look realistic.
      2. You wouldn't want this mod.

Yeah by default the timescale is 30 which is extremely fast, 1 day ingame passes in less than 1 hour real time !
But before decreasing too much the timescale with the console command, remember that there are some parts of the game when you need to wait a few days (notably for the stronghold construction, but it happens elsewhere too). So something like 15 is more reasonable, but not lower, or be prepared to raise it again when you'll need to wait these few days !

Using OpenMW here...and this mod apprently not working...

Activating this Mod, and then in the game activating console command "timescale", and the timescale still show 30...

Using console command "set timescale to" solve it....

    Hello.
I'm afraid it can break respawn system - monsters, chests, merchants, etc. Anybody can say something about that?

1:1 is the only right way to play. And 1200:1 makes the skies spin beautifully.

1:1 unfortunately contradicts the fact that Vvardenfell is supposed to be a whole lot larger than depicted in-game (over thirty-thousand square miles), taking many hours to cross. There was a mod that makes the clock accelerate during wilderness travel (unless you stand still), but sadly it was broken by a MW Code Patch update and the author hasn't had time to fix it.

just so you know, you can change it from in-game console anytime, syntax is:

    set timescale to value

(it is a global variable so its current value will be saved with the rest of the game state and kept on reload)
