Didnt even have  a texture folder. just made a folder named "Textures", added "magicitem" in that and it works perfect.
    Using Openmw. Thanks man.

I have the magicitem file in my texture folder and its not working at all. I really want this to work because that horrible shine effect is easily one of my least favorite things about Morrowind and there's no other mod to get rid of it altogether.

Can confirm this works flawlessly. Put the magicitem file folder that comes with this mod in the texture folder in your data folder and you're done.
    Great Mod, simple and effective.

If it doesn't work for you, move the "magicitem" file in the "Textures" file in your game data, it worked for me.

This mod is pointless. No replacer will work unless they have a later modification date than the original .bsa archives. So how about redating just THREE files instead of updating almost every old mesh or texture replacer for Morrowind? It's much less work this way, and almost anyone who is serious about modding their game has redated their files already.

Better use Morrowind Code Patch (or another tool that does that) to re-date the files.
