    Hey, thanks for the mod.

Really glad I don't have to get into weird shennanigans with creeper or crab to sell my stuff.

There's no dialogue in the mod, it adds chests to the Cells merchants are in but doesn't affect the merchants. About the only conflict I can envisage is if another mod adds an item in the same place in a Cell, then you'd have overlapping items.

This may come handy. Something that needs a huge fix is the economy. Merchants don't have much money to buy very valuable objects. There are mods making the Mud Crab Merchant and the Creeper millionaires, but this is very unbalancing and not really immersive and making your savegame huge due to their inventories never resetting, unless you kill them and bring them back to life by console scripting. I'd love a mod making trade more real: banking, price fluctuations due to the crisis being more menacing or the eventual defeat of Dagoth Ur and his ash vampires, as well as other events that make prices go up and down. Bullion could be another factor, but getting back to merchants, a rework is needed. I liked Oblivion's Merchant system, there were certain perks affecting their cash reserves and stock. If all money was used up by the merchant, it would regenerate some time later. And prices would vary according to both seller and buyer merchant's skill, cultural affinity, events ruling prices fluctuations, or if the item being purchased is related to the type of wares such merchant is inclined to buy and sell. Anyway, thanks for reading my rant.

How is this different to Rex Little's Consignment Chests? This seems to be the same, apart from affecting fewer merchants.

The main difference is that since Rex built his version using vanilla Morrowind, it can't detect the cost of the item in the chest, and thus must rely on a hard-coded list of items to check for. Using MSWE allows the chests to work with any item in the game, as well as any mod-added items.

For a little context, as I mentioned in the credits section, this mod was directly inspired by Rex's. It actually began as a simple remake, as I hadn't been able to find the original (I haven't touched Morrowind in almost a decade, so I wasn't aware of modhistory), and Rex said he didn't have the file backed up when I contacted him. Someone provided the link to his version when I mentioned I was remaking it while researching the mercantile formula, so I was able to take a look at how he had done it. I figured the additional compatibility with any armor- or weapon-adding mods made it worth an upload.

Oh cool, MWSE magic sauce sprinkled on the original. I didn't see that in the description, I think adding that this supports mod-added items to that would be a good idea.

I think Rex's original is one of those under appreciated gems of Morrowind modding. You're right though, its limitation of just handling Bethesda items was always a bit of a bind.

What I did with Rex's mod was to drop most of the normal loot with one of the Vvardenfell merchants (Wayn in the Balmora Fighter's Guild) but use Catia Sosia in Mournhold for Ebony and Daedric stuff, simply because she had more daily gold to work with.

Not sure how feasible extending the Consignment Chest functionality to her would be?

      Just an idea, your mod.

Thanks for the feedback! I think you're right, adding that to the description is a good idea.

Adding a consignment chest to new merchants is actually super easy (another benefit provided by MWSE)! In vanilla Morrowind each merchant's identity and gold allowance had to be hard coded for each chest, but with MWSE the script can infer the owner from the chest itself, so adding another is as simple as placing the chest, adding the script, and setting the ownership! I'll add one to Catia when I get a chance! I decided against adding chests to the Mournhold merchants in the initial release just because I was less familiar with them.
