I respectfully wish to share my thoughts/feedback. I tried this mod out, but I was feeling it. I don't quite know how to explain it, but there's just something about that vanilla statue that has me glued to it. xD I dislike the vanilla eyes, though, as others pointed out. Those eyes, man, are ridiculous! Ha, ha!
Now, if these textures were placed on the vanilla statue and any fixes needed were done, I think that would be a cool remake of the statue. This seems to be the only mod in existence on Nexus Mods that attempts to make the dragon statue look better. I'll keep this on my tracking list.
For what it’s worth, I dislike this replacer. And only keep it up because I don’t believe in removing any mods. I cringe whenever I see people using it. Too much of a change from the vanilla statue. It was more of an experiment back in the day. It’s been on my back burner for a while to make a new vanilla-style version. I mostly use vanilla nowadays, so it hasn’t really been a priority.
Yeah. After having it in my game for a while, I'm starting to prefer the vanilla myself. Ha, ha! It might sound silly, but I miss the way it looked and its position. Or perhaps that's just the nostalgia talking. But I ended up removing this mod from my game. I have noticed that my Morrowind gameplay for a while now leans toward improved vanilla-friendly. For example, how Intelligent Textures and Project Atlas does it. I love that approach.
I dunno. The pose just doesn't look very..... interesting. I think that's the word anyway. I feel the pose for the statue should be a bit more action oriented. Of course, this is just my opinion.
I made this what feels like forever ago... I think I based the pose off of the Avatar of Akatosh from Oblivion. I don't actually personally use this replacer as it's too different from the original model, but I leave it here in case anyone likes the way it looks or has other uses for the model.
Yeah, if I were to redo this mod again nowadays, then I would do the textures differently.
Just FYI, this uses a modified dragon model from Reign of Fire. So starting with the texture from that mod would be a good reference if looking into retexturing this thing.
The dragon statue textures is something that always annoys me when I'm in Ebonheart, because it looks much less detailed than everything else. This is welcome
