I've used this mod a long time, but recently affected NPCs show up without heads. I'm not sure if it's an incompatibility with another mod or what. Reinstalling manually and uninstalling both didn't work. I will update if I figure it out!
Wow this is great! Wonderful! I only have one problem with it, that is the Diverse Guards. According to Lore House Redoran and House Telvanni don't allow non Dunmer into their ranks (All Except for the Nerivarine) House Hlaalu allows non Dunmer in their ranks so I suppose you could have Hlaalu guards that Aren't Dunmer. It still looks weird. Is there a way you could make a version that Keeps the Diversity in the Imperial Legion but not in the Great Houses? Thanks.
If Redoran doesn't allow non Dunmer in their ranks, what is Neminda doing there? Telvanni also lets you advance in their ranks whether you do the main quest (and become Nerevarine) or not.
I rather think Redoran and Telvanni are simply much more restrictive than Hlaalu with which outlanders they trust enough to rise in their ranks. Being a guard is also not a high-rank job. Telvanni and Redoran do employ outlander mercenaries, and there are plenty of Bosmer in Telvanni towns. It's also pretty likely that one or another Argonian ex-slave could become a guard in a Telvanni town. I think the House guards are Dunmer only for the same reason that Imperial guards are Imperial only: They're clones. The only guard factions I can think of where non Dunmer would seem out of place, are the Ordinators and High Ordinators. And even there a non-Dunmer could possibly be let in if he or she is fanatic enough and completely Dunmerized in terms of culture. But I won't make any non-Dunmer Ordinators, so don't worry!
If the mod had been smaller I could have made a more racially homogenous version for those who prefer it. As it is now, just making the main version takes a lot of time. But there is one thing you can do if you find the non Dunmer guards immersion-breaking: Changing the names and races of the guards in the Construction Set is pretty easy. If they wear their helmets, it won't matter that they have stock faces. If they don't wear helmets, you can take a Dunmer face that you like from a different mod and assign it to the guard.
Changing my mod to suit your tastes is ok as long as you don't upload it somewhere and say it is all yours.
Oh Thank You for enlightening me. I appreciate the time you took to respond to my message. From what you tell me, I don't see it as a problem anymore. Thanks
That's not the case, and the House Telvanni recruitment book even specifically states that non-dunmer can be successful in the House, albeit with more difficulty.
Edit: The modmaker already responded lmao, I need to read on before posting.
Some of those new faces are possibly nightmare fuel (seriously, Fargoth with his perpetual smile and dark eyes look creepier than Kyubey from Puella Magi Madoka Magica) but then again that's also the beauty of this mod. A fully populated world should not only contain beautiful people, there should be some ugly looking ones, creepy looking ones and scary looking ones. And I have to say most of the faces fit the character pretty well (at least characters with some more in-game back story). I especially like how young and clueless Ienas Sarandas look (although I find it kind of funny his face look similar to a famous Chinese actor), or the some what sinister face of Master Aryon.
A lots of thoughts obviously went into this project (not to mention effort) and thank you very much for this mod.
