    Locked
    Sticky
Work also with the official expansions: Tribunal and Bloodmoon.
Work with the STEAM version, the GOG and the BETHESDA.NET LAUNCHER version.

    F.A.Q :

    1) Whenever I open it, it doesn't matter which data files I ask it to load, but it starts giving me a sea of errors such as "cannot find sound file..." "unable to find Region..." "following string is different for topic...", etc. Any idea what's causing this and how I can fix it?

SOLUTION: This is because Tribunal and Bloodmoon added dilogues over dialogue of Morrowind. This is a common harmless error reporting.
Add the line without quotes "Allowyestoall=1" on [General] section in the Morrowind.ini file (who's located into the Morrowind's game folder).
This allow you to skip all those 'harmless' errors by clicking "Cancel" (thanks hollaajith)

    2) When i extracted the files of this fix to the Morrowind ones in the folder SteamApps > Common > Morrowind, nothing happened. Except for the fact that when i tried to install it, it asks me to insert a disc of the game, but i bought it on steam.

SOLUTION: I was able to fix it by launching the game in the future by using the game's shortcut in it's folder, not opening it from Steam. (thanks Phoenix Risen)

    3) I'm getting a warning. Texture "textures\_default. tga" count 2"

SOLUTION: Just ignore it, it's nothing to worry about.

    4) Where or how can i get the textures and meshes of Morrowind game?

SOLUTION: They are contained in the file Morrowind.bsa (Tribunal.bsa and Bloodmoon.bsa for the extensions game files), which you can think of as similar to a .zip file/compressed folder, except that it requires a special program to take them out.
You can use one of these programs to extract the files: http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Tes3Mod:BSAPack(thanks Salaa)

    5) Each time I restart Morrowind all the settings are on default. Viewing distance, controls, difficulty, everything.

SOLUTION: for the Steam version: you need to disable the Steam Cloud synchronization function (it's used to save your saves online, but don't worry they will be stored as originally intended: in your computer, not online).
Open your Steam client and navigate to your Library, then right-click on the Morrowind game > select Properties > under the Updates tab, UNCHECK the box next to "Enable Steam Cloud synchronization for The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind". (thanks xxjmoxx)

    6) Every time I edit the Gameplay > Settings > fEncumbrancestrmult . Every statistics in game gets the letter "s" in front of it?

SOLUTION: You need to make sure Morrowind.esm is loaded (to the Data Files selection window, when opening the Construction Set, make sure Morrowind.esm is checked (cross in front of it)).
Then edit any Gameplay settings you want. (thanks Andrew0001)

    Hello.
Is it safe to install CS after all that mod-like stuff - MGE XE, Code Patch, edited Morrowind.ini, file changes, etc.? Just wanted to try it (sometimes it's helpful when it comes to fixing mods' issues) but I'm afraid it can break my Morrowind installation. Most stuff is installed by Mod Organizer so it's safe, but still I'm not happy when thinking about reainstalling, configuration of MCP, downloading additional sound files, etc.

Yes you are fine installing it after, because it's all new files for the CS only. You will see that there will be no message appearing about overwriting your files.

To be more precise - I have no CS yet. I have Steam GOTY and I need to download it separately. So I mean - is it safe to install CS after all that modding stuff?

Yes, I do that all the time (installaing CS after my game is modded).
If it ask you to overwrite something then be careful, but it never happened to me, and everything works nicely.

      Oh, I thought it's just a fix.
EDIT: I'm new to CS. Could you tell me how to check which textures refer to particular mesh? I pick an object in CS (a ship e.g.) but don't know what to do to check which textures it uses.

To do that you need to use Nifskope. It's a free external tool you need to install, it allow you to display meshe and see which textures is attached to it.
You need to install the nifskope version 1.13 (that's the optimal one for Morrowind): https://github.com/niftools/nifskope/releases/tag/nifskope-1.1.3

Thanks. I checked that bigger ship in Ebonheart. I watched all textures in NifSkope but none of them is related to deck floor. Wanted to check it because Shacks Docks and Ships Arkitektora doesn't cover that deck floor. Any idea how it names?

Did you chech in the CS the ship?
So maybe the ship is modified by a mod, in this case check the esp of the mod in the CS and check the boat model path and name. And then you can check again for the textures path inside this model.

Thanks for suggestion. Just wanted to notice that I unpacked Morrowind.bsa, watched all vanilla textures one by one, and there's no such texture. That's strange.
EDIT: I installed fixed boat mesh from Papill6n various graphics things. Now deck floor's texture is properly linked to boat mesh.

Hi. Does it work for CD GOTY Edition? (versions are correct). In game everything is fine, but yesterday, when I tried to check in CS one mod (which requires Tribunal and Bloodmoon), I got millions of errros. Yes, I tried command "Allowyestoall=1" in Morrowind.ini, but when I choose to cancel in CS program shut down after a few seconds (system window appear with information that program doesn't answer). It goes like this every single time. There is nothing I can do with this.

Now I'm wondering if this fix can help or not. As I see even after installing it some people still have those errors, but they can use "Allowyestoall=1", which doesn't work in my case. I don't want to make more mess, I'm after few day of installing ton of mods.

Do a backup of your TESCS files, before placing this fix :)

I would say go ahead and try it. You cannot break the game doing that.
And let us if it works, please :)

The program launches correctly. Anyway when I try to recompile the scripts of a mod, it gives me an error and it get stuck in this loop message.
But I don't know if also the standard TESCS would do the same for that particular mod. Besides that, it seems to work. Is it the full package of the TESCS or do I need some more file?

Yes I'm pretty sure, it's the full package of TESCS.
      What is the mod?
      What is your error's message?

I downloaded this to tailor NPC's to my liking using the Facepack Compilation, but I am getting a ridiculous amount of errors when trying to use this. if I load just Morrowind, everything is fine. If I select Tribunal and Bloodmoon the CS gives me tons of errors. If I select The Facepack Compilation as well, I get a different set of errors. If I select every mod I currently have installed I still get even more errors.

I have no problems with missing files or anything while actually playing. It is just when trying to do anything in the CS.

    Help please!

Edit* Upon further testing it appears the issue is Bloodmoon. If I select it everything goes crazy. Which sucks because the Facepack compilation requires Bloodmoon and Tribunal to be selected to mess around with it.

This is because tribunal and bloodmoon added dilogues over dialogue of morrowind. This is a common harmless error reporting.

Add the line without quotes "Allowyestoall=1" on [General] section in morrowind.ini.

I downloaded a mod to delete Cliff Racers from the game, but it doesn't work no matter what I try. I even tried making one myself to no avail. Any ideas?

Thank you so, SO much for this.

Morrowind is my favorite game of all time. For some reason, my laptop won't load all of the necessary assets to play Morrowind off of the CD version that I have, so, in desperation to play my most beloved game, I purchased it on Steam - but it didn't come with the Construction Set. I hadn't touched the game for a while because of this, but finally, someone mentioned this Steam Construction Set to me, and lo and behold, it works! I can finally play fully modded Morrowind again!

    Again, thank you!

I have the 4 disc CD version and the DVD version of Morrowind GOTY and both 'forget' to transfer files when installing the game. I got a truckload of errors at first startup and had to manually copy/paste the texture and meshes folders into the game's Data Files directory.

I installed the Construction Set now for the Bethesda Launcher Version of Morrowind and it works. However, since installing it I have noticed two problems. For one the graphics of the water in Morrowind is worse and I do not know why. Also, every time I restart Morrowind all the settings are on default. Viewing distance, controls, difficulty, everything. That is really annoying. Has anyone had similar problems after installing the Construction Set? Is there a way to fix this?
