The only downside is that some shaders messed up the UI.. but there's a solution to this, the ReShade add-on "ReshadeEffectShaderToggler". It allows you to apply the effects before the UI. There's some tweaking to do and I didn't tested it on MHW but it works great on other games (FFXIV for example).
If you have time to test it and if it works.. might be a great idea to add it !
It's a great mod thanks! But I think I need a little help. I followed the instructions to do #7 and put the .ini file into my MHW file, but when I opened the game, the reshade menu didn't pop up, and when I pressed the home button and selected your ini file, it didn't tick any effects. And there's" waiting for livesplit" in the top right of my screen.
okay. I need a bit of help. I've followed your instruction. (of which to add, they were amazingly clear! I got reshade installed and all that.) The one part that has me stumped is where you say to drop your .ini file into the game directory then (if i understood correctly) select it from the Reshade menu.
The only thing is: your .zip file contains a configuration file. not a .ini file (unless if both a config and .ini file are the same thing.)
Either way, I took the (config) file from your .zip and slapped it in my MHW directory, but it doesn't pop up in the Reshade menu when I start up my game.
any idea what's going on with that? :/
(Thank you in advance btw. Your shader looks wild and I hope to get it working soon!)
My archive indeed contains a .ini file! And it's indeed the same thing as a config. If there's any difference, I'm not aware of the details.
Nevertheless, you do need to drag & drop my .ini into the game directory, which you seem to have done.
Have you tried pressing 'reload' to see if the preset doesn't appear afterward?
If not, try to reinstall reshade and when you're on the shader installation window, don't select any, at the very bottom of this window, you can choose a preset to install only the shaders it uses. Select my preset, and you should see that only the shaders from the preset have been checked. Then install reshade normally.
This might force reshade to recognize the preset, we never know, it might work.
If that doesn't solve the issue, I'd like you to contact me on Discord to take a closer look, as I really don't know why the preset isn't appearing in your menu :/
Is there a way to fully disable the depth of field effect? The focusing on it is super frustrating while hunting monsters. Additionally, do you know if it is possible to use hunterpie in conjunction with this as I could not get it to work?
Hunterpie is an overlay, it doesn't appear in game so I wouldn't think it'd be affected by any reshades. The problem is that hunterpie refuses to appear on top when the shaders are on, any ideas on how to fix this?
Do I have to buy into the iMMerse reshade to get it? Because from what I see it looks like I have to snag their whole 5 dollar sub just to get this it feels like
Not sure if it's just me, but it seems like enabling iMMERSE Pro: RTGI changes the opacity for the HUD and menus. Also, seems *very* dark at night time. Any tips for adjusting settings to correct this? Other than that, this set of shaders looks nice.

I have disabled Directx 12 but my reshade menu still does not open, is there any fix to this?

I didn't know this mod existed. At the moment, I don't have much time, but I'll still take a look and maybe do an update.
Thanks for sharing :)

I didn't know about Hunterpie before reading your post, I'm not sure if my preset will work well with it...
