.mrl3 files govern visual effects like when the weapon should glow red or white during charge attacks and such. Editing them involves hacking away at literal binary code so understanding those isn't a skill I've mastered, and there's no mention of his vfx edits in the description

i'd like to ask though, i wanna try modding armor but how do i get the armor files? in elden ring & dark souls there's the uxm unpack tool, unpacks all the weapon/armor files and one can start modding. but i've no idea what to do here
The MHWNoChunk tool does precisely what you're asking for. Next you'll also need a specific user-made plugin to import and export .mod3 files, which only works on an old version of Blender (I think 2.9) so be sure to hit up the MH Modding Discord to find this stuff
Any chance you could do one that hides the shields for SnS when the weapon is sheathed? Been having some trouble with a gauntlet mod that gives you a pair of fists from TERA as SnS, but the fist where the shield is always present when sheathed.
I don't personally know animation well enough to do this, but I think an earlier mod should have you covered. Just be wary of file conflicts with other mods, and if you have miscellaneous questions don't be afraid to poke around the MHW Modding Discord
No worries! I've managed to figure it out. I did manage to use that mod you linked to get it to work. Its quite a simple fix! Would you like for me to provide an updated file that hides the shield for the SnS when sheathed?
i think i enabled the permissions on this mod so you can add it yourself, or you could post it as your own mod, whichever you like. you could probably expand it to include all sns or even other weapon categories, just make sure its function is explained clearly
that would be "one030" according to the weapon id list i should mention that this sword does become visible once you draw it tho, and the glowing bubble guard is also intact. having a totally invisible sheathed weapon was unintentional, but very handy when tweaking armor fashions
hi felix can u do that invisble mod for long sword things ? that we can see only the blades? and pls try it out that the game dont crashes thats all it will be super nice if u can do that :)
