no bro, several bases have appeared on SC, and when you aim at them the game simply crashes and closes.With this fix you can target such bases and the game will not close.
But do tell us if you or anyone else finds a fix to that nonlethal fob crash, I would sell my legs to be able to infiltrate nonlethal bases without the game crashing.
Probably the wrong place to ask about this but I'm lost. Alas since I have not found anything but 8-7 year old threads about it and this is a recent thread I want to ask if anyone else is experiencing their game freezing whilst audio continues to play. Typically happens whenever I leave the game running without input for a while (AFK). I played a pirated version of this game, and it did not crash ONCE. Then decided to buy this game from summer sale just for a worse experience overall.
I am running the S plus plus, and No More Timers mods as well as having the d3d11.dll and fov.cfg files that the FOV modifier mod introduces in my game folder. (Same mods I used in my pirated copy with no problems)
I've heard that Infinite Heaven and Jimbo's Gunpack can cause freezing to happen, but I do not have those installed. Also some threads have suggested insufficient hardware to be the culprit but that shouldn't be the problem in current year.
First off if you're modding this game in any capacity you really should start with installing IH and Zeta, not only do they add features but also improve stability and compatibility for mods, they're frameworks you really can't skip. IH doesn't cause crashing unless you crank the settings up to insane levels and enable all the different options at the same time (no reason to ever do this anyways). Once you've got those remove FOV modifier, it's redundant with IH installed, you can use Player cam hook and have greater freedom over every viewpoint FOV (idle/aim/cover/cqc). Could be that its the issue as well, but no experience with it so dunno, worth removing it for the better alternative regardless.
I've had issues with S++ in the past, so I'd have to recommend removing it as well. Now that you're on a legit copy its a pretty pointless mod anyways if you have a stable internet connection.
I'm playing a run right now with like 25 mods installed including a ton of settings enabled on IH and no issues. Can pretty much guarantee its either the FOV or S++ mod causing it (I'm also using No More Timers with no issues). So yeah do with all that what you will.
It's, typically, an issue with the game struggling to load items like: Textures, models, stats, etc. That said, the fact that you do not have IH is in-of itself going to cause most mods to be screwy. As inxequinox said; you should have it. It's a framework for mods to function and most if not all mods search for it when loading. Most mods will not work without it, and those that do will typically break at least eventually. This coupled with newly-updated mods combined with out-dated game will inherently break something. That said, I used to play a pirated version of this game myself and being a huge mod-junkie I eventually figured out a way to get mods (with IH) to work properly. It's not going to get every mod under the sun to work, some require Zeta; which required latest IH; which requires latest game version (for example). I eventually did buy the game and now mod the hell out of it. TLDR: Send me a message and I'll give you a rundown of where to start, where to look, and what to do.
First of all, thank you both for replying. It is encouraging to receive support like this and I am grateful for any suggestions at this point. I've since re-installed Infinite Heaven. I don't know how I didn't liken it to something like SKSE for Skyrim as a mod framework, that makes sense, thank you both. Albeit I don't seem to have any mods that directly require IH, I reckon it's good to have it anyways. If for nothing else then for the FOV hook it provides, which also replaced my standalone FOV mod per your guidance. Thanks Equinox! I was not aware that the FOV hook IH provides persisted after game relaunch, hence the standalone FOV mod. I also took your advice and installed Zeta too even though just like with IH I don't seem to have any mods that claim to require it.
I'll be testing the stability of the game with these fixes implemented and update you if it becomes more stable. (Since installing IH any CTD's have not happened and the frequency of the ACC freezes with audio continuing to play have noticeably reduced) I also feel that the game is more stable in Offline-mode, but this could just be placebo. Interested in what you guys think?
As for the S plus plus mod: It could well be the remaining culprit, however I'm not ready to uninstall it quite yet. I do not have enough MB coins for another FOB yet and S ranked staff from the FOB event point exchange seem to be in limited stock. So I'm grinding Mission 28 in order to get my Unit Levels high enough for the AM A114 RP and WU S.Pistol SB+ before I uninstall the mod.
