UPDATE 10/28/21 :
Due to technical limitations with MGSV, swapping voices on the scale set out is NOT possible. Meaning the vast majority of enemy soldiers will be mute for this mod. As of right now there is no plausible way to fully change enemy voices, so barring bugs, for the time being this mod is done and I will be moving on to the next one. If you have any suggestions for things to change for this mod though feel free to let me know and I'll consider it!

FEATURES:

  • Replaces the Soviet soldiers with American USCENTCOM agents - Soldiers recruited from all branches of the US military to work directly for the Pentagon and CIA. These aren't run of the mill GI, these are death squads with little to no oversight and little to no morality. These enemies come in 4 different variations such as rank and class.
  • Soviet environmental markings such as the USSR flag are gone and replaced with American ones.
  • Soviet voice lines are in the process of being replaced with American ones. This is a work in progress.

Summary:

This is the initial release of what I want to become a major overhaul mod. The goal of this mod is to eventually have the entirety of the Soviet faction (nearly) seamlessly replaced. As of release today (Oct 27 2021) I'm glad that most of the heavy ground work is done with a lot of boring tedious work remaining. As of right now Infinite Heaven is required for this mod to play to it's best ability (though it works full well without it) there are some technical limitation I ran into that IH remedies.

Before that though I want to explain a bit more about the mod, why I made it, what it started from, some details etc.

The basic premise is that I think that keeping MGSV fresh involves making the world feel alive. I was impressed with E2ParaJumper's GI soldier mod because it did something I didn't really consider: change the actual enemies of the game. While this has been done before and way more seamless than I've achieved so far through IH add-ons, I wanted something you could play the whole entire game with, rather than just free-roam.

The idea of the "lore" behind the mod is that the enemy forces it adds are the precursor to JSOC who are working on behalf of the CIA with CENTCOM on Operation Cyclone- the US funding and training of the Mujaheddin to overthrow the democratically elected government of Afghanistan.

Setting up the mod with Infinite Heaven:

In an effort to not change too much of the game's files and because of some technical limitations, it's recommended to run Infinite Heaven alongside this mod with some of the options enabled. Here I will explain which ones and why.

Enemy Prep Menu: It is recommended to have Helmet and soft body armor spawn chance at 0% since there is no model for soft body armor and the helmet model spawns at random, with the actual helmet itself being invisible and not corresponding. It can get frustrating to shoot someone in the head who is wearing a hat only to not get the headshot.

Enemy Prep Weapons: It's recommended to set these to XOF, PF, or DD weapons since these are all American/American inspired weaponry as opposed to Soviet weapons.

Future of the mod:

There are two main things I want to accomplish with this mod before marking it off as "done":

Enough American voice lines to make the enemy faction feel natural
The helmet issue sorted.

I'm unsure how plausible fixing the helmet bug is, but the American voice lines in game can be used to replace the Russian ones, it simply take a lot of time. This mod will be updated in the future with more voice lines. Once that is done I'll move on to a new project.
