Im assuming i should not use this and instead use the other M9 laser fix you put out since i have the A.I slop mod as well. but i see there is another file in this one for the laser pointer. i assume thats the laser shown in the video below. is there any reason it isnt in the a.i slop fix mod you uploaded? i was thinking about putting just that in the ovr_stm folder.
Not everybody wants ai upscaled textures so the mods are separate. Not sure which other m9 fix mod you're talking about, this is the only one, and is supposed to be installed after AI Slop
If you want, I also released mod packs for MGS2 & MGS3 with all the major mods preconfigured to simplify setting everything up :)
That file fixes the transparency bug that is in the video in the mod description. This mod is still needed, even with AI Slop, as AI Slop doesn't contain texture fixes. (My AI Slop patch just updates textures that have been changed by Konami that the old uploader of AI Slop hasn't updated their mod for yet, again as stated in that mod's description.)
It looks like Konami has fixed laser bug "Ver.1.4.0 Patch Notes -Fixed an issue where the laser pointer would not be displayed during specific cutscenes"
The official 1.4.0 patch does NOT fix the transparency issue with the rest of the M9's laser sight visible in this video, they only fixed the front texture not working.
Ergo, my mod is still relevant for the time being.
(Likewise, my mod also has a touched up / upscaled version of the 1.4.0 texture already - since they fixed it the same way I originally did.)
I'll be updating the page after the holidays to reflect that it still does fix additional things that Konami hasn't addressed yet. :)

How are you able to open game files?
