hi, thanks for this mod and your others, i just installed this on a new essentials only modlist, first mission on campaign, the LOD's for distant snow/ice mountains where not right, LOD was broken somehow after installing this. the ice texture in the close environment where all broken. i had this loaded right after higher priority the your mesh optimizer.
Would really like a version of this that doesn't touch the cockpit glass. Everything else about this mod is great, but the weird animated "tech code" pattern moving around on the glass just doesn't make any sense.
Is there a version of this that makes things look better without messing with other features? I dig these mod but sometimes the Xeno mods do more than they say and that tends to be problematic.
I agree. I really wish we had a version that had JUST the texture and mesh optimizations, but no new shaders. I love the optimizations but really don't like the animated cockpit glass exteriors, or the new mech shaders. The fact you can't get the optimizations without the other additions is REALLY annoying.
Idk if it's YAML, YAML Mechs, YAW or YAW Clan, but after trying your mod again to see the damage effect, my 2 favorite mechs vanished from the hangar. Both your optimization mods conflict with YAML, but loading xenopax optimize first never broke anything, so I did the same with this one. But then my Atlas AS7-A and the Awesome AWS-PB simply disappeared from the hangar, and even disabling art optimizer and rolling back to old saves didn't do anything; mechs were gone forever and I started a new career again, sobbing like a baby. LOL. Well, no big deal, as I cleaned up my mods folder a lot, leaving only the essential ones, like xenopax optimize, before starting over.
Nope, not at all. But apparently YAML has some code that does a "Skin Fix", whatever that is. I presume it's been / will be fixed; PGI just made a major change to how Skins work in the engine.
In DLC4 this mod seems to be the culprit for invisible / flickering metal walls / building objects. I understand you're busy, but your mech shader and textures are my favorite - maybe producing a cut down version with just that in the meantime if you don't plan on checking the game out and updating the whole thing anytime soon?
before you ask that, try setting your view distance quality to far rather than maximum. I don't remember if the bug was fixed or not, but vanilla MW5 after the DLC4 update has it's maximum view distance quality messed up.
Hello I did in fact read your disclaimer, however I am running a fairly bulky mod list and wanted to try the optimization your mod offers. I am mainly built around the YAML-verse series of mods and extensions to content, coyotes mission, and UV&W with vonBiomes. The mods that directly touch the meshes/shaders are Improved Mech Shader (Dull version; https://www.nexusmods.com/mechwarrior5mercenaries/mods/222?tab=files) and, as @RomarioGee commented, Source HD textures (all of em; https://www.nexusmods.com/mechwarrior5mercenaries/mods/139?tab=files). Oh, and Camo Spec (https://www.nexusmods.com/mechwarrior5mercenaries/mods/565)....
I really want to try this and test it but would like your input first if possible!
Thank you for your mods. Does this work/conflict with the Source HD Texture mod https://www.nexusmods.com/mechwarrior5mercenaries/mods/139?tab=files&file_id=1997. If not then what's the load order? Thank you
